dr robert zane /kaiser harbor city

Hello Everyone


I have vsg surgery schedule for 07/31/09 and was wondering if anyone had Robert Zane. How was your experience?

Dr. Zane repaired my intestinal hernia and made my pouch the correct size.  I love love love him.  He is wonderful, knowledgeable and has one of the most caring manners I have come across.  Plus a nice smile doesn't hurt.  I wish you all the best with your up coming surgery.

The hospital nursing staff however can be the pits.

When I was researching having my VSG at Kaiser a close friend of mind had Dr. Zane and LOVED him.  He wasn't available when I was ready but I had his cohort Dr. Belzberg.  From what I have continued to hear about Dr. Zane is that he is a great surgeon, great bedside manner etc.

I brough my wife to him for a consult on a RNY revision from a 1980 gastric bypass that had gone bad. It appeared that he was afraid of the revision. One surgery was cancelled because he said my wife did not know how to eat, and after 27 years I doubted that. A second surgery was supposedly scheduled, and somehow she was not put on the surgery schedule. A 3rd surgery was also cancelled by their surgical team. I DEMANDED and got a letter from the head of surgery of Harbor City Hosptial that the staff had an issue with her surgery, and Dr. Suh (my RNY surgeon) did the revision in July, 2007. These delays made my wife suffer for several more months, and she had 2 more trips to the emergency room during this delay. Not a good expereince. DAVE

my cousin just had her RNY with Dr. Zane back in December and he was great i have nothing but good things to say about him i went with her to her preop appoinments as well as her consult. I give Dr. Zane two thumbs way up
