Yes gaining weight can be soooo disappointing and self hating but the best first step is to realize it and do something about it =) 

Today is Friday  and me and Gus are heading out for a weekend trip...cant wait...

Good morning everyone... it's been so long since I've responded to morning posts... bear with me... it will take me awhile to catch up on who is who and all like that.

In my household, we are rejoicing today! My middle nephew has had some pending legal action against him for over a year now. It was all based on lies... but, it has financially wrecked my brother's family, and they are filing BK.

BUT! This morning we got the best possible news: CASE DISMISSED!

We are all thanking the Good Lord this morning, let me tell you.

So, that's my morning "what am I thankful for!"

At my house... demolition begins today on an old bedroom that is being converted to a full bath and walkin closet... i think i just might swing a hammer myself!! Burn a few calories and have a little fun, all in one! If you're near LB around 1pm, drop in... BYO hammer.

Jeni, isn't this group just the best!?  I agree: stop beating yourself up.  First, it accomplishes nothing except to make you feel worse and just continues the downward cycle.  Today is the First day of the rest of your life!  Yesterday is gone and done with...you can't change it. And tomorrow..heck! it isn't here yet...it'll be a new day. Today is what we have been given to work with...you have taken the first step..recognition of a problem...you already have the tool to fix it.  And you don't have to do it alone...we are all here to listen, encourage and support you!

Good luck next Tuesday with your carpel tunnel surgery!  I had both wrists 'fixed' and with today's technology, the surgery is a breeze.  You'll be back to typing away in just a few days.

Good morning Jeni and all of Cali

I think I am liking the new dynamic of the board. While I am sad that there had to be drama to get it to where it should be, I am happy that we are finally "here".

I finished 2 weeks of my Astronomy class! Big relief there. I *am* going to make it, and I might even get a good grade! And yesterday on the way home from school, I got the best phone call... possibly ever.

Since I'm on SSDI, I had met with a counselor at the Dept of Rehabilitation a few months ago. It's taken a while to get things moving, but yesterday I got the call I was so hoping to get. The Dept of Rehab is going to pay for me to go to school, full time (tuition, books and materials - and transportation if I need it) to get an AA degree in Radiologic Technology. It's a 2 year program at Cypress College. I'm amazed; they are going to pay for EVERYTHING... for the entire duration of the program!

How can I be so incredibly blessed, when just a short while ago I had pretty much given up on God? How do I deserve this, when I haven't been true to Him? Obviously, I am so very happy that I have this opportunity, but a part of me is confused, as well.

*sigh*

Anyway, this weekend just brings homework for me. There's an Ocean Festival going on in San Clemente, but I doubt I'll have time to make it down there. I have Drop In (bipolar support group) today, that I have missed the last couple of weeks, so that will be good.

Congratulations Paula on the full scholarship! What wonderful news!  I am sure you are experiencing a huge amount of relief right about now.  PS: God NEVER gives up on us...he just waits for us to come to our senses LOL.  He will always take of us..giving us what we need, not necessarily what we want, but what we need.  The answer to your question why do you deserve this?  Because God loves you!!

Social Security must have been in the phone-calling-mood yesterday....I got the call about my daughter Olivia's benefits being approved yesterday too.  Cool beans for all of us!!
