San Diego Area People please help

Hello, I am trying to get my WLS stuff moving forward however I need to make a PCP change in order to use Pacific Bariatric it looks like I have get a new PCP. Is there anyone out there that may be able to give me any suggestions on some in the Scripps Mercy group? My PCP at UCSD is support however, they don't offer different surgery types and I want the RNY. I have PacifiCare HMO insurance. Please advise

My PCP is also at UCSD and my insurance would not cover the surgery at all through them.  I finally asked the insurance what physician or program they would cover and they told me.  It was either Scripps Mercy or Sharp Memorial. 

So try asking your insurance company?

They will cover it as long as it's in my network, however because UCSD has a program and I don't want the Lap Band I am being denied the surgery there and it's hard to get it elsewhere because that's my managed care group.

My Scripps PCP is Miriam Hekmat...I really like her.  Have been going to her for about 6 years now.  She's at the clinic in Rancho Bernardo.  She's the one that really got me moving forward to consider and actually DO the RNY.

Hey, one of my best friends from High School works at the RB Scripps. (I don't know why the call it RB, when it's in Carmel Mtn. though  lol) she is the MA for Dr. Mulvahney in family practice, she loves it there!!

It cracks me up too that they call it RB!  YAY!  I get to meet another neighbor, I look forward to meeting the gang as well!
