It just hit me.......

Tomorrow is my One Year Surgerversary!  One year ago I weighed 293 pounds, had pre-diabetes, sleep apnea and they're ready to put me on a machine, my blood pressure is high and my cholesterol is ugly  I snore like a trucker and I do not feel rested when I do sleep.  I wear a size 3x in tops and a 24W in pants and a 9 1/2 wide in shoes.

One year later = 145 pounds GONE!  My blood sugar level is consistantly an 89.  My blood pressure has been running about 97 /55 (a little low but not too bad) and all the rest of my tests are great.  I don't snore anymore, and I no longer have sleep apnea.  When I sleep, I am so rested.  I wear a size medium in tops, a size 6 in jeans (size 6!  I swear I haven't worn a size 6 since I was like....10!) and I wear a size 9 regular width in shoes.

I can now walk anywhere I want and for how long I want to without betting winded and tired.  I've been abalone diving.   I've been white water rafting.  I've actually got up on a wake board behind a boat that didn't bog down and strain under the pressure of trying to pull me up.  The last time I was up on waterskiis was when I was 20 years old (that's 28 years folks!).  How cool is that?

I've been snow skiing again and I actually bought me a season pass for next year.

I've recently taken up snacking and grazing and so tomorrow, on the one year anniversary of the beginning of the rest of my life, I am taking my pointed little brain back to basics and back to what I know works.  And the grazing food.................got sent home with Jayden.   Back to basics for me!  But, the bottom line is...........

I LOVE MY RNY!!!

One year ago was the beginning of the rest of my life!  Damn, if I had only done this 20 years ago............. but part of the journey is the struggle, therefore I am exactly where God wants me today!

Thank you to all my board friends!  Without you, my journey would have been much different.  The support I receive from you all is tremendous!  Thank you, thank you, thank you

Maureen,

Thank you for your post.  For those of us who are just days away from our surgeries and at the excited but totally freaked out stage of this journey I am so appreciative of your thought one year later.  It helps us so much to hear from you.  It puts our fears at ease and gets our eyes back on the prize to hear from those who have already been there and done that.
Thank you,

Debbie

Happy Surgiversary My MOMO!

You have come so far, and I can't even begin to tell you what a blessing it has been t share part of your journey with you.  I will never forget the white water rafting or our trip to Disneyland riding the screaming MIMI and the Soaring over America Sings a song!  I can't imagine how awesome it is for you to be a size 6 that is amazing.  a 6 x 4 = a 24.  So if you would have saved all your 24's you would now have 4 size 6 outfits right?  Crap I love math.  Well keep sending your out shrinks to me I sure loved the last batch.  Actually I think you need to make another trip down south here and bring them all to me!  lol.  JJ saw your picture on the comuter yesterday and went ape!  MY MOMO! MY MOMO!  It was funny.  Well my darling know that you are in my thought and in my prayers always.  YOu are " THE AMAZING MOMO" in my book!

Love you my dear,

Rhonda
