New Guy in Chico Surg Date Sept 14th

Wow what a cool place! I live in Chico CA and have surgery in Sac on Sept 14 RNY. I have lost 20lbs + so far in 6 days on liquid goodness! Feeling good but find tears at times, my emotions r trippin! I never cry! But thats ok. Im 38 Male and i will survive this mess I put myself into! Just had to vent! Im new and in seach of new friends in my area who r or went threw the same things. Just need some support..1 week to go! Thanks

Welcome to one of the best sites on the internet!  I too am from the beautiful Northern California.  I am in Redding and tomorrow is actually my 1 year "Surgerversary"  One year ago I weighed in at 293 pounds and had so many heath issues.  One year later I am down 145 pounds and am go go go go. My diabetes is gone!  My blood pressure is perfect, my sleep apnea is gone and I no longer snore and I sleep so darn good it's amazing.

I've gone Abalone diving, white water rafting and went wakeboarding!  I actually got up on a wakeboard behind a boat that did not bog down while trying to pull me up out of the water!  How cool is that?  I can hike and go on walk hunts with my husband now and not get winded!  I can actually buy camo clothes off the rack.  And shopping..............my new addiction!

Welcome to the Cali board and congratulations on your upcoming surgery.  You've come to a great place for support and answers.    Come on it, sit down and hold on this weight loss journey is going to be a wild ride!

If you have questions, ask away, there and wonderful folks on this site who can help you along your journey.  Most of us have posted blogs on the experiences we had with out WLS.

We will have our Nor Cal lunch on Sep. 26th in Concord at Mimi's and in Oct, we're going to do a road trip to Apple Hill by Placerville.  Watch for posts.  We'd love to meet you and help you on your journey.

I am feeling very emontional today too.  Tomorrow is my surgery.  But I want you to know it is o.k. to cry even if you are a man.  I also want to tell you  like the others you have come to the right place.  These people now my friends are so wonderful and supportive.  We can make it because we have great friends here.  Good Luck!

Hon, you are going to do just great.  First of all, the surgery is not horrible, please do not fear it, and second, there will be a time when you are going to start to mourn the loss of food, and you will wonder, just what the hell did you do, don't worry.  It works out well.  There are several men on this site, and I wish one of them would come up on the board and say something, but let me tell you.  Every MAN on this board, has done unbelieveably well.  The fact that men lose so much faster, you will be on this board saying how happy you are and how glad you are that you did this not even a year from now.  SO look towards tomorrow, don't worry about the surgery, you are going to be nervous that is normal, but you will be here telling me how my words were so true not long from now.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Cali board. Congrats on your upcoming surgery. Here u will find all the support u will need. All you have to do is post and ask.

Right now emotions are very normal.........TRUST ME!! So cry it out my friend it will only get better. This is a life changing thing that you are chosening to do and let me be the first to tell you it is well worth it.
