My insurance company called me back today. They approved a 2nd opinion consultation with Dr. Peter Crookes at USC. It is for a consult only. But it's a start. If he thinks that the DS will be a better option for me than the RYN revision, that is when the real fun starts. She told me that I have to go through my IPA to see if they will authorize it. If it comes to that then I will take it from there. But for now. I am just excited to be able to have the consult to see what he has to say. I will keep everyone informed. THANK YOU ALL for the support and advise and recommendations that you provided.

As Shell said, take all your records, and if you can get any pics from your endoscopies, that would be helpful as well.

Great news Linda. Any pictures will help...and explaining your reasons for wanting the DS instead of the RNY...this will be really important. Keep an open mind...your ultimate goal is to get past all this misery you've had to endure...even if it means RNY again. Keeping you in my prayers and hoping for the best results possible

Wh mis your IPA ?Dr Crookes will be an advocate for you if he feels you know what you want and why you want it. He a very caring man but will press you make sure you are prepared for what you want. Once he believes in you he will go above adn beyond to help you.
he got my VSG approved when most wouldn't even try. He wrote a letter he included with the standard paperwork and that put it over the top.
