My belly button wound is red and itchy........... I first put on triple antibiotic oinment but I have been wearing a thin tshirt under my abdominal binder and wonder if its probably the start of a yeast infection.  I know ya'll aren't doctors but would you use triple antibiotic or an antifungal like miconozole?  thanks

Call your surgeon's office in the morning and see if there's something they can recommend....if its the sign of a bigger problem like an infection maybe they cn tell you.

:( That sucks, I'm itchy all over my incision line.  I apply lotion.

The itching is supposed to be a good sign, means we are healing, but I know how horrible it can be.  That 12 inch scar on my back drives me nuts sometimes and I can't scratch it because it's so tender.  When the nurse comes and changes my dressing everyday, I make him rub on the tape a few extra times, just for some relief.

I am with Monica tho, call the surgeon, make sure you are suppose to be putting things on your new scar.

Thanks ladies.  Placed a call this morning.  I'll let you know what they say.
I suspect I've started a yeast infection wearing this binder.  Taking it off throughout the day.

Doc said use Nothing.  :-(
Itchy but she says it is very unlikely it is fungal.  It's subsided some.  She did say i could put neosporin.........it wouldn't hurt.

Thanks
