Don't let a premature loss of focus get in the way of your weight loss. Sometimes when you're 6 months or more out of surgery, you might find yourself able to tolerate more foods and might start veering away from the proper food choices. Even though those crackers and cookies go down fine, does not mean they should be eaten on a regular basis. Just because the ice cream didn't cause dumping does not mean it should be consumed every night. These foods offer little to no nutritional value, only extra and unwanted calories.

Take this time to evaluate your daily intake. Are you letting chips, crackers and sweets creep in? Keeping that focus and making the right choices will get you to that goal weight!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Thank you for your post.  I for one have fallen by the way side.  It's not that I eat cookies and candies, I do get to have some once in awhile, but I am making bad food choices and eating more carbs.  This has been a thorn in my side for over a year.  No big weight gain, but I am also not losing and near goal like I would like to be.

Again thank you for making me thinking about refocusing.

Thanks for posting Amy.  I look forward to your posts and especially this one.  At 5 years out I have totally lost focus and have gained some weight back.  I'm trying really hard right now to get back on track, but boy oh boy is it hard to do.

But I will prevail.  I have to.  Thanks for the kick in the butt.

Hi Amy and thanks for posting.  You mentioned the stuff that I most crave and can eat without dumping and that includes crackers, cookies and anything else that is crunchy. I decided to start over again yesterday and put myself on a week of protein drinks. I am now back to keeping track of everything that goes in my mouth!
Thanks again for the post.
