Well I had blood work last Saturday for my visit to my PCP this week. When I decided I need to do the surgery to lose weight it was because they wanted to put me on insulin. My Hemoglobin A1C was 7.3 (it had been as high as 8.9), pre surgery it was 6.8 and now it is 5.8. This is within the standard range of 4.6-6 I am so excited. My PCP who was skeptical about referring me for surgery, is so happy with my results. I no longer take any kind of prescriptions. Before I was taking over 10 pills a day between my diabetic meds and blood pressure and cholesterol med.
Just had to share this.

Congraulations Dolores!! That is just wonderful! You look amazing and I know you are feeling so much better. I stopped my BP meds about a month ago so I understand how great it feels to not feel like a prisoner bound to pills. Keep up the good work...you are almost at goal! PRICELESS ^_^

Elizabeth,
I did not think I would ever be clear of meds, but after just one month they were all gone. Now I am happy to just take the vitamins. At least if I forget them when I am on a trip I do not have to freak out! You will be clear of that half does in no time.
