I am the same way around that time of the month too. My appetitie increases and my pouch can take in more food. It's strange, but I was the same way before surgery too.
I have no idea if this will help for you, but at Whole Foods and even Safeway, I found these noodles that are made completely from soy. I wish I could remember the brand, but they come in a skinny and thick version. The whole pack is only 40 calories and it's almost all protein. When I craving noodle like dishes, I have this with low fat cheese melted on top or any topping will do. They come in small packages and the noodles are immersed in water. I've found these things in the same area as other soy/tofu products kind of near things like yogurt.
Sometimes I allow myself to have a small amount of carbs, but pasta is like death to me so I don't eat it. Also the very healthy tasting low sugar, high fiber muffins at Trader Joe's helps too. Be sure to get the small size and not huge size.
