I had my 1 month check up today.

I went to Fresno this morning for my one month check up today.  (though it is closer to 5 weeks)  The doctor was very pleased!  He is so fast that I don't have a chance to say much of anything though.  Then I saw my PA this afternoon.  He was pleased too.  He had this surgery 5 years ago.  He gave me some words of wisdom and sent me happily on my way. 

Great news! My mom had RNY 4 years ago and she had Dr. Swartz also.

yea Elizabeth!  It's nice to have confirmation of what you alreay knew..You are doing fantastic!!  Keep up the hard work...you deserve all the credit!

One word of advice....you must take charge of your own health care...tell the doctor to slow down..you have questions or concerns and want them addressed!  I don't think they rush intentionally...they just have so many patients to see in a day that they don't realize that they don't give patients enough time.  I always write down my concerns/questions so I don't forget them...and it also lets the doctor KNOW I have questions when I pull it out of my purse ;-)  I can also email my questions to my doc in between visits...you might want to check to see if you can also.

I am so happy to hear about the good news.  U are doing a great job and there is all of the same ahead of you.  I am so proud of you, and I really hope that you are feeling as good as you did the last we spoke.  Your phone will ring with me on the other end soon. 

You are such a sweet person and you deserve nothing but the best, but Nancy is right.  YOU are paying him for the visit.  He works for you, so make sure you tell your doctor you have questions and let him sit there until you are done with what you have on your mind...ok??  I once had a doctor try and rush my visit, and I asked him where he was going, he said, his next patient, I told him he wasn't done with me yet!  He sat right back down and we went through all of my concerns.  You have to be in charge, don't let these doctor push you around.  Got it????  lol

You have done a great job so far, so keep up eating every so often and keep your energy up.

I wish I would have been on the forum yesterday and knew about your appt today.  I would have met you up at the MD office.  Well i'm glad your doing well.  Keep up the good work.  Can't wait to go to a north cal lunch with you.  Hope they have one soon.
