My One Year Check Up

Guess what..............he told me I was doing FABULOUS!!!  Go figure.  My labs are perfect, my blood pressure is perfect, my cholesterol is excellent, my blood sugar is still good so my diabetes is "cured" and most importantly I feel good.

21 months (today) with NO SMOKING!
14 months no caffeine
13 months with no diabetes medicine
143# gone forever!

I have gone from a size 24W and 3XL or 2XL down to a size 6 in jeans and a Medium in tops.  I never thought I'd ever be in a size 6 or a Medium.  Ever.  I was commenting to Joe last night that I remember agonizing over whether an XL in things at Costco would fit or be too small.  Now I'm buying Mediums.

He'd like to see me lose an additional 15# and get down to 150.  I am going to work on it.  As he told me, the first year of "maintenance" you can expect to gain 10#

I LOVE MY RNY!!!!

Thanks Nancy.  One thing I've learned from this site is we're all in this together and we all encourage and compliment each other and if needed we give a swift boot in the bunz.  We love to tease each other.  I've amassed a good bunch of friends from this site!

MoMo loves being MoMo!!!!!

That is fantastic news!  I hope at my one year appointment I can say the same things.  I have been off my diabetic meds and love not being a slave to them.  Vitamins are so much easier.  its all about the maintenance now!

Thanks!  You wanna know why they all want to be like MoMo????  (me too!)  Actually, I made a few big changes in my life and I live each and every day like it's going to be my last!  I am so not afraid to try anything at all.  I hunt, I swim, I fish, I hike, I water ski, I white water raft (with my buddy Rhonda!) and I am married to my best friend!  WE do so much together.

Life is soooo short.  I spent 17 years married to a man who told me I couldn't do anything and couldn't do anything right.  I can literally say my life began at 40 because my divorce was final the day before my 40th birthday.  Up until now, the only things keeping me down was the weight, the smoking and the caffeine.  I made up my mind to fix that and I did.

Now, I am on the go all the time having fun.  I bought a season pass for skiing this year.  One of my most favorite sayings is ...........Life isn't about making it to the grave with a well preserved pretty body but sliding in sideways with dirt on your face saying "whoooHooooo, what a ride!".  That's how I'm going to go out - body pretty much used up and kinda tired from all the fun!

That's my philosophy.  How I lose the weight and keep it off - I pack my day's food in my lunch box and don't deviate from the menu.  (Ok, so I allow myself 2 "extras" a week).  I plan my meals, plan my calorie and fat intake and follow my program.  And Take Your Vitamins and Drink Your Water!!!!!!
