What happened to the Good Ol Days in So Cal?
AS a new bee i read alot of the Cali boards. But I am so new I don't know what to say about some of the comments because i haven't had any of the experience that you all have had.
What I do know is that I have talked to some of the people here and they are so nice. And even though I didn't have WLS I would like to stick around and get to know more of you guys. And I would love to go to some of the get togethers in the future. The bad thing is I work some nights and weekends. And I still need some support from people that understand what I am going through. And I am going to have to lose this weight on my own.

Kim.....in the old days when people got their surgery dates.....somebody would volunteer to be their "angel". In many cases, their "angel" would plan a celebration of sorts.....or what we used to call a "last supper". It would usually be a week or two before surgery. We all know "last supper" wasn't literal.....of course they would be able to eat again.....but it was a way to get everyone together to celebrate the upcoming surgery. People often brought the person little treats such as protein samples and stuff like that. There were "last suppers" almost weekly....sometimes more than once a week....and some people had more than one! LOL
Ahhhhh......the good ol' days! :-)
