Good Morning Calif.....Welcome to this wonderful Friday morning.....
How many of you are braving the day and hitting the shops. What great gift item are you after and did you get it? Its back to work for me today.

Yesterday was a short day for me, I only worked 8 hours and when I walked out of the building its was a great day, so when I got home, I took the kids for a walk and turned them lose to run at the High School. You should have seen them running like there was no tomorrow. Poor slightly over weight Fresser was done after about 10 minutes and Chloe and Frankie was just warming up. I should have took my camera.

So, yesterday at work we had a pot luck that started at 9 and when I left at 3:30 they are bring out more food. Dang, there was so much food, we could have feed the whole patients and staff and still had left overs.  It was a great turn out for a pot luck. I took a SF cake and veggie plate. (I didn't anyone the cake was SF)

So tell us about your Thanksgiving. Did you enjoy spending time with your family and friends?? I enjoy the the alone time and spedning time with myself.

Chris.........I hope you feel better, I must admit, I didn't even get near the scale and I don't think I even log on the computer, so maybe next week it will be a better turn out for WWW.

Lady D.........How did you day of cooking a traditional Thanksgiving dinner?? I miss the smell of cooking on any big holiday. I know it would smell like mom and bring a smile to my face when I think back to my family gathering around the table, with all the "strays" that would came and join the family.

Becboo...........how is branchitis and cough doing? I hope you are able to shake them both before your surgery day. Did you enjoy your time with your family?

Pat............Congrats on your surgery date. What a great way to start the New Year. You have a reason to be very excited.

Michelle...........I hope you was able to enjoy your day of Thanks and that you spent it with a gathering of your family and friends.

Kirsten and JaviC.........did you do the Turkey Trot? did you get a turkey that you want to cook for all of OH'er your second family? When should we should up?

Rhonda.....Sounds like you had a very busy day. You need to take a second and tell us more about it.

Good Morning Lu and the Cali Crew!  The only reason I am up right now is to shoo off the boys who are going out to cut a load of wood for a good elderly friend.  Tika is headed out to the shops and I politely declined.  I told her I prefer going back to bed than going to jail for taking out someone who was really really rude.  I don't do shopping like that.  I prefer to shop from the comfort of my living room in my jammies while siting in my easy chair.

Yeserday was a total load of fun.  I did the local 2 mile Turkey Trott with a friend.  First time ever and we had a blast.  We also had a lasagna dinner, zuppa tuscana soup (oh yum!) and salad and all that.  Tomorrow is turkey day.  We had a roaring round of Rummy going before dinner and after dinner was Texas Hold 'em,  Joe walked away with $40.

Today brings me baking and cooking my stuffing.  I have 2 pumpkin cakes to bake as well as the stuffing.  I also have o run to Costco for dog food (very poor planning on my part) but that's all after I go back to bed for a while.

Later guys and gals.  Remember to take your vitamins, drink your water and Dance like Nobody's Watching!  Hear the music, feel the music and just let go!

Sista!  did you find your coat?  I found another one that is just as warm as my other one at Costco and this one is in my favorite color!  CHOCOLATE BROWN! I will show you at the next coffee if you are in town.

Lu, Good evening

Yesterday was just great with friends and enjoying their company.  It was awesome, got to meet some new ones too and that is even better.   I am always busy doing something today was more freinds and wonderful shopping at a secret location.  O****ostco Outlet!  But it was great.  Got some good stuff and spoiled my son a bit!  He needed it and deserved it.  Tomorrow is nothing but nothing.  No nothing planned but closet organization, my passion in life, and something I have been neglecting as I have been to busy playing like a feend.  Well that is all that is up with me.  I hope everyone had a wonderful day tomorrow.

Good Morning Lu and Cali Friends,

Had a wonderful Thankgiving Day.  We went to visit Ron's Dad for a couple of hours, and watched some football with him.  Then went home and put the turkey on to roast, I had prepared all the sides in the early morning, so all that was left was to mash potatoes and make gravy.  Easy breezy!

While the turkey was roasting, Isla and I headed over to K-Mart where we got some great sales on stuff.  We had dinner and then Isla and I ran to Michael's where it was packed.  Isla got a very cute small Christmas tree for Bert's room and some baskets.  We then went and had coffee and I had a couple of bites of pumpkin pie.

Today is "shop til you drop day" with my friend Linda.  We've done this for the past 7 years and LOVE it.  She and I stay away from the malls but manage to do some great shopping and have a blast doing it.  We will probably get our hubbys together for dinner and dominoes after that.

This weekend will be inside decorating for Christmas, then next week, Ron will put up the outside stuff.  Pics to follow.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Hugs,
Barb

Good Morning LuLu and Cali Crew,

My Thanksgiving was good. It was really busy at work in both units though. It didn't feel like a holiday. Just a regular work day. The food they brought in for us looked really good. I had a bit of fruit and just ate what I brought instead.

Lu, I didn't see my family, they all live in Canada, but with us all being together in Scotland in Oct. We celebrated the Canadian thanksgiving while we were there. That was the first time since 1990 that we have all spent it together. Long time eh.

Not much planned for me today. I am not a big shopper, so I will be avoiding that today, although I do need a rake so I can get the leaves out of my front yard. They are driving me nuts and getting dragged into the house when I come in. I do have an appointment with my trainer in a bit. I can always go for a great workout. Such a wonderful way to relieve stress.

I hope everyone is enjoying there time off from work. Stay safe!!

Lu,

I wish I had know you were off early and didn't have anything to do.  We were sitting down eating at 4 and you could have come here and ate some food.  I hear everything was really good Of course I hate a bite here and a bite there, but when the deserts came out, I did indulge and they were good.  Homemade pumpkin pies and I made a cheesecake, cookies and lots of whipped cream, enough of that left over that we would have some fun with gomba later.

I am glad to see that everyone had a fun filled day, and where is everyone else, shopping perhaps.  I cannot imagine getting up at 2 to get dressed to get to the stores before 4 am.  That would be a true shopaholic.  I hate shopping, but I do like all the decorations when you go and enjoy being around nice people.  Women shoppers are a little *****ier I have noticed around this time of year, must be all the work worrying about buying gifts.  Geesh men have it so easy.

Hope everyone enjoys their time off.  Anyone want some left overs to eat, come on over, plenty of turkey and ham left, and stuffing and potatos, and everything else.  But you must be warned we are sick here, Dougie and I are both down for the count.

Hugs, Diane

Good Morning Lu and the California Crew!!!!

Ahhhh to sleep in on Black Friday rather than join the hoards of shoppers....ugh.  We were driving home last night and passing by the Cabazon outlets around 10pm and it was open and the freeway exit to the outlet was backed up.  INSANE!!!!  Luckily I have two more presents to get for my niece and nephew and then something for my husband and I am done as far as shopping goes.

Yesterday was my first post op Thanksgiving - still in pureed phase - and it was okay as far as the food was concerned.  My little mush was dry and had no flavor, but I ate it slowly and got my protein in.  I had a great time hanging out with my family telling stories, watching the kids be kids and laughing.

After 4 to 5 years of not being able to wear it, I got my weddings rings on yesterday.  They are a little snug but nothing brutal.  I keep looking at my hand with my rings on and thinking how beautiful they look...  This is my first WOW moment and I couldn't be happier about it.

Doing nothing bu****ching movies today, goofing off with my blackberry, maybe cleaning a little bit and staying warm!

Hope everyone has a great day!
