Turns out it was a hernia!

Turns out Wednesday I find out I had a Hernia, Had surgery Wednesday and I was out by Thanksgiving afternoon. Thank god everything went well and I'm fine now. But boy was I in pain and a nervous wreck. My surgeon was great and took care of the problem right away. He said because of the sudden and rapid weight loss, my intestine was shifting around and got tangled up. States because the majority of my excess weight has been lost, this shouldn't occur again. I sure hope he is right. Vicodin for now to go to bed only, otherwise I'm not in much pain anymore. Happy Thanksgiving to all! In despite of my recent surgery I was lucky enough to have 2 bites of mashed potatoes and green bean casserole. Tasty. I'll maybe be ready to taste the delicious turkey my husband made by this weekend. Thank you everyone who had me in their thoughts and prayers.

Sorry for your pain, but very happy that your doctor took great, and rapid care of you.

Over joyed that you was able to spend turkey day with your family.

Myra I am glad you are doing ok. You should have let me know. Of course that was probably the last thing on your mind. Did Dr. Swartz do the surgery? You take care of your self and get rest. I hope you have some time off work.

oh my gosh!!! well my dr found out that i had a hernia when he was doing my gastric bypass surgery, when i woke up he told me i had a hernia and he removed it!!! i didnt even realize i had it i wasnt in pain or anything...

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. Passed my first bowel today and I feel soo much better. Trying to stay on liquids a little longer until I get regular but boy has it been really hard. I've been taking nibbles of stuff here and there.
