Hi everyone..
So.. I read the boards alot and comment once in awhile.. but I've been wondering about something.  I am almost 11 months out now, and I have not thrown up, or dumped..ever.  I eat pretty much any protein and I'm fine.  Early on when i would eat re-heated food I would feel nauesous, but now I'm fine.  Am I just really lucky, or are there a lot of people like me?  I won't eat anything with more than around 11 grams of sugar, so I'm sure that helps with the dumping.. I keep seeing people talking about getting sick.. even further out than me, but it hasn't happened here.  Believe me, I'm not complaining LOL, just curious.

;-)  I had surgery 18 months ago and have had no complications, have not dumped, thrown up and have been able to eat anything I want.

I follow all the basic rules and focus on protein first

Hope that is good input!  Was trying to let you know you were not alone without repeating everything you already said.

Good Job!!!!  You are following the rules as an 11-monther SHOULD follow them.  Message to other readers who are 11 months or less out!!!!

At 11 months out, it is great that you do not have that problem.  My experience has been that I didn't experience any of that either until about three years out, when I did start bending the rules.

Hopefully, you will not be a dummy like me and test the waters, even at three years out, because that began my being much less careful about what I ate.

Yep, ditto to both Lola and Barb ^_^  Only time I dumped...I did to myself...tried a food too early on, ate too fast, didn't chew enough, etc etc...got major 'stuck' issue because of it.  Believe me, have never done that since LOL

I'm 9mos out...sugar doesn't seem to be an issue for me nor carbs or much of anything..except eggs; just don't like the taste anymore :-(  I call this 'non-issue' a curse...why?  Because it can lead me down the wayward path...I have to constantly be aware of what choices I'm making...my 'penalty' is a gain...certainly NOT the direction I want to go in ;-)

BTW...when I asked my surgeon about the non-issue...she answered: "that's the way it is suppose to be!  Only about 1% have 'issues' or complications...sugar will always be a 'problem' is over-indulged in."  While I think her 1% is a bit low...it's nice to think we should be complication-free eventually.

At least that's my story..and I'm not lying!  ROTFL

From the research I did preop dumping is a 50/50 chance and it's not always on sweets, some folks dump off high fat foods.
