Hello everyone

I'm stiil very new to this site my RNY surgery date is 02/05/2010 and I'm starting to get really nervous now as the date is getting closer. I've been on my pre-op dite for 11 days now and my starting weight was 264 lbs. and I just weighed myself this morning and I'm dowm to 253.4 lbs. so I am feeling good about myself.. the only thing is I feel so hungry sometimes my pre-op diet consists of

breakfast- protein shake
lunch- pritein shake
Dinner- 6oz of chicken and a greeen veggie

now I have to do this for 4 weks total before my surgery date. Has anyone had anything similiar that can offer me any advise?

Thanks
Juanita

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery and good luck with your new healthier lifestyle.

I had to do a 2 week liquid diet pre-op. I did get hungry so I ate sf jello, sf popsicles, lots of broth, drank lots of decaf tea and decaf coffee, anything to keep something going in my stomach.

I do not know if you are allowed to have any of that or not, but I would check with your surgeon or nutritionist.

You really are not eating much and your stomach is still the same size, that is why you are hungry.  After surgery you will be surprised how that will fill you up!  Good Luck!
