Hi Leech:

I don't very often come around this board anymore, but happened upon your post tonight, and all the responses to it.

First off, so I can understand better, did you have WLS nine years ago or did you have the body lift surgery nine years ago?

I went and looked at you pictures.  They are definitely not pix of Pamela Anderson, but I am pretty sure NONE of us look or will ever look like her anyway.

Can you be more specific about your camplaints so I can understand what you are trying to say?  I would appreciate it.

My WLS was six years ago, and plastics were four years ago.  I had excess skin removed from arms, legs, and tummy.  I don't recall the medical terminology of the surgeries.  HOWEVER, the doc did not such a good job on my left leg and I battled that setback for months and months before the damn thing finally healed.  I have been left with chronic pain since then in my leg.  I currently am on pain management because of it and, unless my leg falls off or they figure out something new to take the pain away, I expect to be taking those little "magic pills" for a long time.  That is part of life.  Sure, I wi**** weren't that way, but it is what it is, and you just keep on keeping on.

I could easily let the negativity get me down, but it does no one any good for me to do that so I just suck it up and smile.  Nobody likes a Debbie Downer around.

I wish you all the luck and happiness in the world!!!

I'm a bit tired from all the posting and from working and smiling thru the pain at my two jobs.  I"ll get back to you soon about why I had the lower  body lift surgery 81/2 years ago though. To be more specific about my complaints isn't easy.  They are very complicated and change every 6 months. I have to stretch a lot.  It's a big part of my day.  I hang upside down and do situps and such to stretch my inner groin skin because there isn't enough of it.  If you think no one likes a Debbie Downer they really won't like a "Debby Upsidedowner" which is what I am.
Where does your leg hurt and what sort of meds do you get for the pain?  No one will allow me to have pain meds here.  Doctors I've seen say that pain meds aren't for chronic pain only episodic. I have had ultram a few times.  It helps a bit but makes me feel more nervous than I'd like.

So sorry to hear you are STILL having pain and discomfort.  There are a lot of quack reconstructive surgeons who have no idea how to deal with taking off massive amounts of skin after weight loss.

I urge everyone reading this thread to DO YOUR RESEARCH!!  Just because someone does plastic surgery or mommie makeovers doesn't mean they can deal with hacking off 20lbs of skin and ft etc.

Be blessed Leech.  Have you gone through any type of pain management clinic to help deal with this?

Hello and sorry to hear that you are not feeling well and/or happy.
Each person is an individual and unique and will experience something totally different from others who have had the same type of surgery.
I had plastic surgery and yes there was pain, but the pain was and continues to be well worth it.  I just want others who are reading this post to know that my overall appearance makes me feel much better about myself and also I am more confident. I can do things now that I could not do pre plastic surgery. I would have the plastic surgery again as I am really happy with my surgeon and my results.
