I reviewed my preop results with my PCP yesterday  and find that my EKG was wierd.  Now I have to have cardiology consult--repeat EEG and likely stress test before I can be "signed off" for surgery.  I have an appt on Monday pm.  Please pray all goes well, because the thought of having to postpone surgery makes me sad.  BUT since this whole process is about regaining health and wellness, I will do what ever I have to do.  But I don't have to like it!!

I'm so sorry. Christi! You have been through so much. I will hope and pray that all goes well. After waiting so long, I'm sure its just a case of better safe than sorry. I can understand how frustrating this is for you. But remember no matter what, you have the support and wishes of your OH friends and family. Hang in there.
Huge hugs,
Michelle

It's better they do it now. But i know how you feel. I went in to have wls on 10-23-09. And when i woke up they had fixed a very bad hernia but no wls  i was so upset I had some liver problems and it took too long to repair the hernia they didn't want to keep me open any longer .  so now I am waiting for some results from specialist to see if i can have wls at a later date. So I will pray everything goes well for you.

Hi Christie,  don't worry about it,  i know that's easy for me to say but it's easy for me to say because i had an abnormal EKG and had an echo stress test and i just have an extra p wave,  every once in a while my heart does an additional beat but its no big deal and the cardiologist said (after the second test i had to release me for surgery 5 yrs after the first one i had, its probably been like that me whole life and not a big deal,  so don't borrow trouble,  keep good positive thoughts and all will be good    take care
the start of my brand new life was on 5/28/10

Hi Cristi....Don't worry about the EEG .  I too had to have an additional one and a cardiac stress test prior to my lap band.  Come to find out, my "irregular" EEG is my "normal."

The stress test is no big deal.  They wire you up for sound and make you walk on a treadmill that increases speed and incline.  Don't worry if you cannot go the whole time and don't finish.  They are looking at how your heart reacts to the stress you are putting on it.   You will do great.

Mine came back odd too the first time just work with them and don't stress out. They just want to make sure you will be ok with this surgery. More test the better. just relax and you will be on the lossers bench with us soon...
