I'm so hungry...
You don't state what kind of surgery you had done, so it's a little tough to help.
If RNY--it's head hunger from your remnant stomach thinking that it's not being fed. And of course it isn't. You might do a little more protein. The "head hunger" will go away eventually, but it is kind of tough at first. Find something to do to distract yourself; I used embroidery, some folks knit or crochet, others scrapbook.
If a band, try more protein, and definitely stay away from refined carbs as those will make you want to eat more carbs, so you get into a vicious circle.
Good luck!

Well, as I stated in my first reply, it's your other part of your stomach that is definitely responding to the lack of food. After all, no matter what you put into your pouch, it's NEVER going to go into the part of your stomach that is demanding food. That's where you're getting the grumblys from, and you have to learn to ignore it's demands. That's the head hunger--
I know that is tough for a lot of folks, as it was for me. Fortunately I didn't have the grumbly tummy, but I DID want to eat again, as I had pre-op. That's why a diversion is so valuable, to take your mind off things.
My actual urge to eat went away with the surgery, so I was fortunate there.
It's tough, I know. Hang in there.

I also have RYN and didn't really feel hungry until 11 months out. I feel like I want to eat all the time, but I know part of it is head hunger. I notice on the weekends when I am going things I want to do, I don't want to eat as much.
Talk to your surgeon and nutritionist about this. They may have some tricks up their sleeves to deal with this. I know a person in my support group despite his RNY feels hungry all the time and that after examining head vs. real hunger realized it is both.
Good luck in getting to the bottom of this.

I did hae my appt today with my surgeon and nurse and they both told me that, as far as my lab work is concerned, I am getting all my nutrients and protein, and then some. Everything came back great. Said I was one of the few people they have seen that actually have a high Vit D level. Says I need to concentrate on eating the right combination of foods, protein with some carbs (whole wheat crackers, etc. ) I think it is just a matter of finding out what I can and can't do, and at 11 weeks, I am in the throes of it right now. As long as I know that I am getting enuf protein I am cool. That is what worried me more than anything. If they are happy with the progress and the lab results, then so am I. 41 lbs in 11 weeks!! I am halfway there!
