Scared

Well, as most of you know I have finished my requirements and am just waiting on insurance approval, but am scared to death I am going to be denied. I have Blue Shield PPO.....what are my odds? I can't even sleep because this is all I can think about. I just don't know if I can handle hearing the word "denied". I am trying to prepare myself for the worst, but I just can't do that. I can't wait for the news so at least I will know.

I don't know anything about Blue Shield PPO. But try not to stress out on the outcome of the approval. Stress is not good for you and I'm sure things will be just fine. Thinking postive thoughts for you.

All denied means is you go another round.  Do not let this get to you.  There are so many ways to get approved, you just have to find a way around the obstacle they put in your road. :-)

Good luck!

Sweetie, just put in into the hands of who ever you pray to. I know this sounds wishy washy but there are somethings we just can't predict . If you are denied then you will appeal. If you want it bad enough you will fight for it. I know I would have had I not been approved.

Big Hugs

Hi - congrats on being done with your requirements! I remember being nervous about being approved, then afer being approved I was afraid that they'd change their mind... I never felt at ease until I woke up in recovery - know that they couldn't take back my blessing!

Hang in there - get your sleep - you're gonna need it soon!

I have Blue Shield PPO, but it is through my employer so there's a chance the requirements/criteria could be different for you. Having said that: I got approved on my first try - no extra documentation requested and no questions asked. They were GREAT to deal with!

Hi trukerzgal,

I have the same insurance and I've heard that it's one of the easiest to get approved.  Did Dr. Coirin's staff suggest it might be denied?   I go in for my consult on Friday, I'll ask their opinion.  I'd like to know for myself.  I know someone with the same insurance who went through it for an RNY and got approved immediately.  I don't think you need to worry.

Also, thanks again for the info you gave me earlier this week.  I called Dr. Morgan on Monday and I have an appointment to see him this coming Monday.  I just received his questionnaire today.  What alot of questions!  Also have my physical scheduled for Wed next week.  Hopefully, I'll have everything I need completed and can move onto the approval process.

Keep us posted and try to stay positive.  Hope you hear soon.

Thank you to everyone for helping set my mind at ease. Congrats Cataholic. Sounds like you have all of your ducks in a row! You will really like Dr. Morgan...he is so soft spoken. We may end up in surgery days apart.
