Good Sunday Morning
I hope this Sunday morning opens great for you all, and starts your new week off when a positive way. I have already been outside, and its a tad *****illi and yet refreshing.
Today is a great day to spend with family and friends. With the holidays on their way. This time of year is always nice, because it means you see them that you have not seen in a long time. Which does add stress to us all, and then some of us will turn to our old friend for comfort . So now is the time to start thinking how will we shell deal with the stress, and food (OMG the food) that we will be facing.
I use to think, so much good eaten, and just not enough room for it all, where is my soda?? WOW talk about not having enough room. For me this year, I am glad I have to work and have no plans. But I know that at work they will have pot lucks all week. I try to make sure I take food that I know I can eat, that way, I can load up, sort of speak, on mine, and maybe just small bite of the other stuff. I don’t have to worry about the sweets, I never really went after them. But the breads had better watch out. Ohh wait, that was the old me sneaking in. Sorry about that.
So I would just like to hear, how are you going to deal with the stress? What foods are you going to miss, or run from? We all have food that was only see once a year, around this time, and that we wait for all year. How are you going to handle that? Is that something you can change to make to make WL friendly? Does you family understand about food and your avoidance of it? I hope I hear from a lot of you on this.
I wish you all great day. Smile and share love, ‘tis the season you know?
Hugs and Kisses to one and all....

Morning LuLu and the rest of the crew!
Holidays...they are overrated as far as I am concerned because if you cannot be nice all year...why start just for the holidays...right? Kind of like mothers day....I use to tell my boys that if they wanted to do something for me show it in the actions all year...that meant more than anything you could buy or in this season cook.
I do not worry about holidays and the eating because I really learned my lesson this time last year when I found myself up in weight. It is almost a year now since I have touched the complex carbs and it feels really good.
I am not cooking per se this year...we are going to friends houses and I am only making the handmade ravioli's. Easy and I do not have to stress about all the other stuff that comes along with a big dinner. I kind of like it that way for sure!
My friends and family do support my efforts, but I am my own best advocate and I say this because I am the one who makes it work. It is not their issue so why make them suffer so to speak. I do not care that I will not be eating stuffing or all the other goodies that come with holiday meals. Hell I cannot even eat the ravioli's I make...do I care...nope. What I care about is the serenity I have knowing I have the power not to put that in my mouth!!!
Have a great day everyone!!!

What a great topic for just before a Holiday that typically revolves around eating.
For my family, we have "double duty" We are going to my DH grandma's for thankgiving dinner. She lives in a home and they put on a teriffic spread at noon. Nothing to worry about there. I will have turkey, vegis, and shrimp. They always have SF deserts so I'll probably have a couple bites of one of those. Then to my Mom's at dinner time. Again, I won't have to worry about desert because I'm making it. LOL LF, LS pumkin pie. The one thing I'm going to miss eating is the stuffing. My mom makes the best. What I will probably do is take a small bite or two just to get the taste then i will be good. My family is great! When my Mom sets the table, she always places a small plate on my place. She knows I always eat off of a small plate and that it is easier for me. She always makes sure she serves stuff I can eat and she knows I don't care about the stuff I don't eat and everyone else can have it iff they want.
Today is a relax day for Sammi and I. My tummy sure gave me He!! last night and I dont' feel very good now. I think I'll lay down on the couch for a while and let Sammi watch a movie.
Hope everyone enjoys thier day

It is a little more chilly here this morning than it has been and the weathercasters are predicting showers here later this week. How very appropriate for the Thanksgiving holiday huh? Cool ad wet... very autumn like weather!

As for the stress and food we are planning for a lower key holiday season this year. Less decorations (less lights = lower electrical bill), no presents for adult family members. Money is tight for us right now which is stress enough for us and we are letting everyone know our cir****tances so there are no surprises. Gift shopping won't be a major stressor this year then!
LOL
Food wise everyone knows my situation and I don't have any explaining to do there. I'll have a bite of most anything that sounds good but will leave most sweets alone. They just don't agree with me now. But I sure won't be having two or three plates full of holiday meals and become comatose in front of the TV with my pants unbuttoned this year!

Yesterday we got the office emptied out and D will start painting this morning. Then we will hopefully have time to put most everything back this afternoon. D is off on vaca tomorrow and Tuesday so he can continue the project then. Planning on having the piano picked up from our friends and delivered here Tuesday. It needs to be tuned and a couple of small repairs but is in awesome condition overall and we are so grateful to have the opportunity to have a piano in the house for D. I need to get some yard work done this morning and that will keep me busy while D is painting.

Anyway that's the Sunday report from San Berdoo. Only a three day work week coming up for me and I am excited about that! Wishing everyone a wonderful Sunday... be good to yourselves 'cause you deserve it!

I vacuumed sealed 100# of pepper sticks and salami yesterday. Did some laundry I cannot wait until next weekend when we buy my new dryer! My old one died so I spent $40 on one off of Craigslist. Now I know why it was $40! It eats underwear. Litterally! Big ole holes in em. It tries to eat my nice shirts too, but I usually just hang them to dry now. There is a sot in there between the drum and the frame where the lighter weight fabric gets stuck. So, I told Joe I wanted a NEW dryer - not somebody else's problem child. I win!
As soon as I get a new dryer, I need to pay Victoria's Secret a visit. (needed smaller one's anyway!)
We pick up Mr. Jayder Man for a whole week!!! YaHoooo! And.....his momma says he's so anxious to spend the week over here with dad. Dad only has to work Monday and Tuesday so he gets to spend a lot of quality time with the kid. Me, I'm gonna be recovering from the eviction of Gretta the Gallbladder! Now, that makes me happy!
Toodles............gonna go kick the rest of this migrane to the curb
i haven't even told my extended family about my surgery yet.. so i'll have to pack some food forsure... i think my grandma knows but that's it.. but when i show up they should all notice that i've lost some wieght.. even though i've only lost 40lbs so for.. i'm a little depressed because almost everyone that has had the surgery around the same time i did and they've lost like 70lbs already.. i guess if i excersized more it would come off faster but i don't know.. but i am happy that my old jeans fit again. and soon they will be falling off of me...
i am looking forward of having my daugther for the holiday weekend so that's a good thing...
well that's it for me today i hope everyone has a great day...
oh and a update on my finding a house .. we found an apt that we were accepted to yesterday but my bf doesn't feel right about it.. so i don't know if i'll be moving next weekend or not .. i hope we just take it,, cuz we're suppose to be out of the house by the end of the month..
so wish me luck.. thanks for all the support.. bye y'all
We decided we wouldn't have carbs at Thankgiving meal this year. It's just the 2 of us so no others to say.."what do you mean you don't have candied yams?" We don't need them so I'm not buying them. I haven't had mashed potatoes is so long I don't remember what they taste like; and without the spuds, you don't need gravy. LOL
I'm making a turkey,
3 T Rosemary
1 tsp Salt
1 Turkey
1 Brown-In-Bag
1/2 C water
Grind Rosemary in a Magic Bullet until it's a powder and put 1 tsp in bag. Close bag and shake. I don't use flour for this step anymore.
Take another 1-2 tsp and rub into turkey.
Salt turkey inside and out.
Place turkey in bag, breast side down and add 1/2 C water.
Bake 2-3 hours depending on the size of your turkey (Check cooking directions in the package).
For newbies, take 1/4 C broth from bag and an ounce of 2 of meat and add to Magic Bullet. This is fabulous soup!
For folks farther out, slice and eat as slowly as your pouch will allow.
cranberry sauce with Splenda (4g carbs)
½ tsp plain gelatin (optional)
1 C water
1 bag (12 oz) fresh cranberries
1 C Splenda
Combine cranberries, water and Splenda in a pan over medium-high heat (if adding gelatin, disolve it in ½ C of the water, then add to cranberries in the pot).
Bring to a boil, and boil hard until cranberries pop.
Kep in a tightly covered jar in the fridge.
2T = 4g carbs, 1g fiber
and a low carb pumpkin cheesecake (4g carbs).
