livin 'large'?
My co-workers have been nagging me for a while now about my pants. "They're too big!" So I go out and buy pants, and I keep on trying on 16s and buying them....because I was convinced that I'm not small enough to be a 14 yet.
The last time I was at Target I couldn't find the pants I wanted in 16, so I picked a pair of 14s and tried them on...they fit. The hand-me-down pants that Janine gave me have been haning in in my closet for a while now. I got tired of trying them on and not being able to button them. But now two pairs of them fit.
I also got brave and tried on a dress....not a stretchy knit dress. No, a tailored fitted dress that zippered up the back in a 14. It fit. I didn't need it, but I bought it anyways.
When I got my flat tire on Sunday and I was walking my bike back, the sun was shining on my back and cast a shadow in front of me....I noticed how narrow I looked in the hips. It was a nice diversion from my flat tire and how mad I was. I really have come a long way from a size 26.
Now last night I went to buy a coat....because I'm freezing all the time without my "fat-suit" to keep me warm. The coat I wanted was no longer availlbe in XL. So.....I tried on the L...put my arms in it....closed it.....BUTTONED IT.....then BUCKLED THE BELT. It fits perfectly!
So I admit it now. I wear a 14 and I wear a size large. I couldn't even do that in high school!!!!!
