Yep!  My 2nd little girl is here and healthy!  My c-section went well and my doc was 'done' in 30 minutes.  Recovery's been a little rougher this time but I'm a trooper.  I love vicodin and it loves taking my pain away!  Anyway Amanda was born on 12/15/08 at 0742 and weighed in at 7lb 12oz and 19.25 inches long.  She did have to spend the first 12 hrs in the NICU due to some respiratory distress and hypoglycemia.  She had a bit of a hard time getting the 'crud' out of her lungs due to there was no labor or vaginal delivery to normally squeeze the gunk out.  Her initial blood sugar was also 37 so she was given formula to bring it up and it did.  A few hours later her sugars were in the mid 50s and a few hours after that they were in the 80s and she was maintaining.

Anyway we're home now and doing relatively well.  I had another allergic reaction to the ID bands so I'm taking benadryl and topical kenalog for that and then some vicodin for pain.  I'm grateful that she's here and healthy.  I'll post pictures of her as soon as I get them off loaded from my camera later!!

Congrats Kristy!!! I didn't even know you had a second one on the way! Can't wait to see pics. As an L&D nurse, I LOVE hearing personal experiences! Here is one for you: last week one of our doctors came in and was in a hurry and he came into the OR for a section and saw the nurse and anesthesiologist sitting there and patient with mask on and assumed she was all prepped and ready to go. So without even verbally communication with the others, he grabs his scalpel and goes to work. The lady lets out this blood curdling scream because he hadn't given her anesthesia yet!!!!!!! Can you even imagine?? We all hate this doctor and hope he gets in big, big trouble!
