A great way to save on food
I just came across someone else's post (don't you just love how you can see your friends posts on other forums...that by far is the BEST feature in this new OH!!)
Here is a link to this organization. My brain hasn't had her coffee so my explanation skills aren't the best...

Please take a moment and read what they are all about. You don't have to be unemployed or receiving assistance or anything. They do accept Food Stamps. It looks like they can be found all across the US. Put in your zip code and check them out.
Basically you pay $30 for a box of food. Apparently because this organization buys in bulk they get these great prices and are passing them over to us. I plan on probably talking to a non-wls girlfriend and go in cause they have a regular box you can buy BUT they also have a protein boxes, but you have to get the primary to get the other!!

Ms. Shells!! Thank you so much for posting this site! It is a great program based on the pay it forward thinking. I used to get food from them years ago when we lived in a different town, but since we moved here I had forgotten about it and lost the contact information. Thank you for posting it, in these hard times we can all use a little help. I will be joining again and looking forward to the great food and values. I highly recommend that others check it out too!
Just remember any small act of kindness pays it forward, and a smile and hello doesn't cost you a penny!!

Wow Ms. Shell, I can't tell you how much I needed something like this right now. With me in school fulltime, Harley trying to find work, my son is college, my sister and neice on my couch (sister just lost her job) the pressure on me to make sure everyone is taken care of is tremendous. We're spending twice as much on food since I've taken my sis and neice in and to be honest, I'm getting pretty stressed a lot of the time.
This could be a huge help to us to stretch our food dollar and SOMEDAY when I graduate and get work as an RN, I will pay it forward.
Thank you for the info!!
