You will not feel "full" or"hungry" physically until 6 or so months out.

You are also introducing your body to the concept that "not hungry" does not necessarily mean "full", which is something "normies" try to teach us, and I could not get that until after I had the surgery.

1/4 cup right now is enough. If you are eating very slowly, food just falls out of your pouch and it probably does not hold the first bite you took at the time you eat the last bite. Does that make sense?

You are normal. Congratulations! :)

I just remembered I blogged on this very topic a couple months ago here under "Feelings of Fullness".

Erica,

I n my opinion, if you feel full in the chest, you have eatedn too much.  I felt full in my stomach just like before surgery, from the start.  When I feel it in the chest, I have over eaten or gotten something stuck.

It takes time to figure it all out.

I am doing well.  Still trying to get rid of this sinus junk I have caught.

This is such a strange adventure.  I have lost little over the last two weeks, though I have been working out A LOT.  I took last week off from the gym to let my body recoup.  I have not been on a  scale, but all of a sudden Thursday everything I had been wearing that fit was too big.  I dropped a size literally overnight.  Go figure.

There are few hard and fast rules about the effects of this surgery.  You have to feel it out, and part of the way we do that is by asking.  But, we also have to listen to our instincts.  You're going to do fine.

My experience is that early out when my food was liquid and then soft, I didn't feel as full as when I moved to regular food. Then I felt TOO full on many occasions until I figured it all out and learned to stop sooner.

I never felt full in my chest unless my food was stuck.  At one month I was still eating soft foods and never really felt full.  I realized that I needed more fluids, and it drove me nuts that I couldn't gulp my water.  But once I started getting more fluids in, and I did have to wait for 1/2 hour after I ate and still do, or try to, I was plenty full on less food, and that still stands that way today!

Good luck, I think you are problably doing just fine.  Hang in there.
