OT: Another Eye Update

So I have another update on the eye issue…

 

I went in last night to have my MRI done and I guess it wasn't too bad. It took about 30-40 minutes and I only had a mini freak out moment when I was first put into the machine.

I was ok on the table and then he covered my eyes with a washcloth and put the "cage" thing on my head. That was a little annoying but then I think having that on me and having the machine touching me it was a little Ahhh!!! But I did some deep breathing and after a min it was ok. I do have to say that having an IV started while essentially blind folded hurts a lot more. It was the anticipation of the needle going in. They clean the area and you know it is gonna happen but you just don’t know when. I have bad veins so he had to stick me twice but hey that’s pretty good in my case.

 

The MRI tech told me it should take about a week for my doc to get the results. I have an appointment on the 9th since my vision has gotten worse since I first went to the Ophthalmologist. I can’t really see much of anything. When I look out of my right eye only I see a some shapes but everything is grey. I figured I need to have her check it again even if the MRI isn’t in, but fingers crossed it will be there and I will have new news.

I am sorry it has contiured to get worse. Is it just the right eye or is it both and the right eye is worse?  Are you able to work or are you having to stay home.  I know questions, questions. I sure hope this is an easy fix!  You hang in there.  I guess there really is nothing else you can do right.  Rememer we are praying for you!

I don't mind the questions. It is only in my right eye and since I went to the doc on the 23rd the vision in the right eye has gotten worse. I am able to work as of right now but my job has me on certain restrictions. I can't drive any of their cars and I cant use certain equipment. In all I can preform most of my job duties. I pretty much told them that I want to work. I need to save my time in the event that it isn't a great outcome, I may need extended time off. Also I can't sit at home and mope about it. I don't even know what I am up against right now. Plus I want to save it for my surgery :)

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers darlin.  Can you wear a patch to let that eye rest.  A bank teller I used YEARS ago started to have to wear one.  I can't remember what was wrong with her vision.

I had a wonderful thanksgiving and I pray you had one as well.

I tried the eye patch thing at home for a bit and I ended up moving my eye while I had the patch on. It doesn't really hurt anymore just sometimes I get a sharp pain and sometimes it is like a wave of pain then it is gone. I will ask the doc about the eye patch to see if it would help me at all. Right now I am pretty much up for anything.

My Thanksgiving was good and I am glad to hear yours was too :)
