Elissa,
Could you enlighten me a little?
I had to miss Tuesday's meeting as I was attending a 3 day work conference.
Is Faye Whetstone still affiliated with Victory? Didn't she start and co-lead this group with Faye S.? Why the need to make us leave? Sigh....
My daughter received the star and I'll make sure it gets returned. She was surprised (and was supposed to stop in Tuesday but forgot).
Thanks
Judy

I was a Co-Leader at Concordia Healthy Beginnings. Open for any suggestions. If you can get the information for any of the above places that would be awesome. Most churches require that you at least be a member of their congregation. Hopefully Nicki can see about Concordia. Haven't heard from her yet.
It is a committment to Lead a group. When Healthy Beginnings started there were 4 of us that were co-leaders. Healthy Journey started with 3-4 Co-Leaders. I am very willing to Co-Lead a group, however I do need help to cover those nights I might be traveling and not here. I work in Pa so the meeting place most assessable for me would be from Greenville (PMRI) 141 to RT 52 north to the PA line.
Summers are typically slower. Hope to have a permanent place set up for September.
Thanks. Elissa

At one time there was a WLS support group that met at Concordia Church on Silverside Road, in Wilmington, but that has disbanded. maybe the church will let us use the space that the other support group used. Or how about Aldersgate Church on Concord Pike? Or maybe the JCC on Garden of Eden Road (Wilmington) has a room they could let us use. Not sure if they would charge or not. I work there and could find out if you'd like.
I'm sorry I didn't get to this month's meeting but my husband and I were at Hartefeld CC celebrating a friends 60th birthday. and unfortunately I won't be able to get to next month's meeting because I'm having foot surgery on June 7th and doctor's orders are to stay of my foot for 2 weeks. But I'll definitely be at July's meeting.

Last night was the last night for The Healthy Journey Support Group at Victory Church in New Castle.
I'f anyone has any ideas or wants to help Co-Lead let me know. Tuesday nights worked out well and I'd like to keep that night reserved. Faye Sappington was able too get the Kirkwood Library for June and July's meetings. To tell you the truth it is kinda far for me to travel. I work til 4pm and it was always a rush for me to get to meetings in New Castle.
I'd like to check out the Community Center at The Brandywine Towne Center. Near Target and Trader Joe's. Any other places let me know and we can check them out. There are a few of us who look for support and also like supporting others.

I take 50,000 IU of dry D a day. You will not OD on it. If you are at all deficient, you should up your dosage and get rechecked. Also, look at you PTH and calcium, as these three things go hand in hand with boneloss.

It sounds really good. I just can't get my kids and husband to try anything new. I have been sauteing by vegetables in EVOO with garlic, salt, pepper, basil and italian seasoning. Everyone will eat those. I do green beans mostly but have sauteed carrots also.
My latest obsession is Non Fat cottage cheese with pineapple.
1/2 cup= 90 cal, 6gr sugar, 12 gr protein
I've been eating it just about everyday.

Hi Joanne,
We missed you and can't survive without you!
We're not doing too much this weekend. Going to Home Depot to buy a new mail box! You know just doing the usual, cleaning, laundry and grocery shopping.
It's raining as we speak,
Have a good weekend

Topic: RE: Attention All Chrias Members...
Wow... I too have seen the PA's in the office, both Edward and Shelia. Actually I was kinda surprised to see Edward on my first post op visit... thought he asked a lot of questions regarding my surgery.. like where and when... I thought he should have known that if he had read my chart... but Shelia was great... She was so nice and encouraging...
Topic: Salmon Recipe
I tried this salmon recipe and really loved it. I took the filets put them in a pan sprayed with olive oil spray. salt and peppered them. On top I put riccota cheese. Made a sauce of spinach and salsa. Put it on top and baked at 350 for 15 minutes. I got the ideal from a recipe that looked like salsa to me. Said to serve over rice. I'm not a rice eater so I had vegetables on the side. It was really good and had great flavor. Try it and let me know what you think. See you lighter. Joanne
