Goooooooood Morning from Wilmington.
Today...hmmm...let's see. Well first off, I'm waiting for Raymour and Flannigan's to come and exchange our reclining love seat and sofa. The time frame is between 11 - 2 p.m. From the last delivery, I can honestly say they're pretty prompt. Reason for exchange: the love seat and sofa we now have are extremely difficult to recline and replace in the upright position, even after having the come and adjust all the pieces.
Then, I have a doctor's appointment at 3:30 because there seems to be some kind of bump on the underside of my right foot (under the skin at the instep). The one and only other time I had one was about 7 years ago and it was on the other foot. So I had it removed. Since then I've had yearly visits to the hematologist and all labs have been fine. Guess I'll find out today what's going on with my crazy foot.
Other than that, things are kind of quiet around here.
Have a great day. Nina

I LOVE thrift stores! Shopping without guilt!
It's another busy day for me - I've got two students giving presentations after school, then a doctor's appointment, and then I've got to make dinner and find time to take my daughter to the Carnival. I hope I get it all done!
I'm really looking forward to summer this year! It's been a learning year for me - I'm teaching a level I haven't taught in 15 years, and when I last taught it, it was at the University of Delaware, NOT at a high school. Needless to say, I had to slow a lot down and make a lot of changes. I need the time this summer to refine what I did this year and add a bunch of stuff that I think would make it better. I just love it when people tell me that teachers don't work in the summers...
Oh well. Better get my nose back to the grindstone! Hope everyone has a beautiful sunny Thursday!

Good morning from Lower Slower Delaware ! This is a morning roll call so lets see if we can get more post today. I challenge all to post today! Lets beat yesterday. I worked last night but now have off both jobs until 10 pm tomorrow. I'm getting excited about our trip to Niagara Falls next weekend. Can't wait ! Today I am going to do some rearranging. Hit the thift store in Ocean View. If you are ever down in Lower Slower Delaware and like thrift stores this is the one to hit. Very cheap. I mean shirts 50 cents and pants $1. Lots of beachy stuff but you have to get there early for the good stuff. I usually go every Saturday morning . If anyone is interested in going some Saturday let me know and I will show you where it is .They are only open 9- 12. Tuesday thru Saturday and 4-7pm on Mondays starting in May. They only have night hours in the spring/summer. I might go to lunch with a widows/widowers group today. They go every Thursday but I am usually working so I might check it out today. Hope all has a good day. I look forward to seeing if we get more post. See you lighter. Joanne

Here's the recipe for Greek Meatballs. My husband's doing the South Beach diet (and doing really well!), so I've been using a lot of recipes from this website. The only thing I did differently was that I baked them on a rack over a cookie sheet instead of baking them in olive oil in a casserole dish like she does.

Today was a really good, but busy, day for me. So much to do, so little time. I'd love to add another couple hours to my day! I can't believe that next month is going to be even busier. September and May are always ridiculously busy for high school teachers!
Dinner was fantastic tonight - greek meatballs and tzatziki sauce with a lettuce-free greek salad (cucumber, onion, green pepper, and crumbled feta with a balsamic vinaigrette. I added tomatoes & olives for my husband after I'd had what I wanted).
The Carnival is in town near me, so tomorrow, if it's warmer, my daughter and I will walk up and I'll watch with my heart in my throat as she goes on all the scary rides. I love roller coasters and thrill rides when I'm the rider. I absolutely hate when she goes on them though - I can't stop worrying until she's safely on the ground again.

If I was at a picnic where there was cutlery available, I'd skip the bun and just use a knife and fork. It's no big deal not to eat a bun. You just say no thanks, and move on.Yup this. Low carb is so common these days, no one would even question why you aren't eating the bun.

Weather was great today. My 2nd day back to work. I was glad to see them, but they were real happy I was back too. I really schould find something full time with benefits. I love my part-time jobs, I love the old folks, but no benefits.
I had:
1/2 cup oatmeal /flax seed/2% milk
yogurt
tuna salad (no Bread)
banana
1/8 lb hamburger/lettuce/tomato/onion/ketchup/mayo (no roll)
1 oz macaroni salad (app 2 tablespoonfulls)
possibly a snack later
Cecilia, Sorry you can eat cookies and ice cream. Too bad they don't make you dump.
I have a dear friend who ate donuts 3 months out and has struggled beyond belief.
I do have a 3 bite rule when it comes to forbidden sugar foods. 1 bite to taste, 1 to make sure it was the taste I remembered and the 3rd to savor it. Then toss it out or give it away. That way I don't feel deprived and can deal with the mental issues that go with mindfull eating.
What kind of volunteering do you do? Do you get out much? Being out, working out and walking have helped me stay positive & focused. Aren't you getting ready to move? Must be hard. Hope all goes well for you. ((HUGS)) Elissa
