Thanks Joanne. I'm very happy with the way things are progressing for me.
I actually do toast the deli thins because it seems to help "hold" the sandwich ingredients a little better. :-) I also like the Bagel Thins (toasted as well). When I first began eating the sandwich and bagel thins I had a pang of guilt, thinking I really shouldn't be eating them so soon after surgery, but Beth gave me the go-ahead so that allayed my fears.

Nina, Congradulations on your weight loss. Sounds like you are doing great. Deli thins ! I love them and use them all the time. Do you toast them. If not you might want to try it. I know being 5 years out I still do better with them toasted. Glad to see you posting and look forward to hearing more about your journey. See you lighter. Joanne

Rob, Good advice ! I always carry extra protein bars in my lunch to share with my co-workers. Since I transport kids to court , we never know how long we will be there. Most of the time they will not accept them just because they are protein bars so I always have extra. It does beat hitting the vending machine if hungry. I know I need to work on eating breakfast. There is no excuse since there are so many protein shakes already made. I even bought some. I really like the Special K ones. They are pricey but good. See you lighter. Joanne

Good afternoon! Well, 3 months and 9 days post op and things are going great. Just under 38 pounds lost so far.
Some days I do seem to be hungry but most days I'm not. However, I make sure I get in a minimum of 70 grams of protein and at least 850 calories each day. Still can't get in the 64 oz of water, but I do drink at least 40 oz, which is fine with Beth :-) I exercise three times a week, using a recumbent cross trainer for 20 - 30 minutes and the elliptical machines (which I just started last week) for about 8 - 9 minutes at a time. To date, I've only had one incident of food "stuckage" which only lasted about 20 minutes, thank goodness. I was eating a turkey breast sandwich on a Deli Thin, and I guess I wasn't paying close attention to my chewing. The last two bites weren't chewed enough and the pain set in. AAAAHHH! Since then I have made sure to chew, chew, CHEEEEEEW! It seems that most protein foods, like chicken, fish, beef agree with my pouch. I'm very thankful for that.
I plan on continuing to make a positive change in my weight loss and health. LOVE MY NEW LIFE!!!!!

Finally got smart today. I remembered giving advice about two to three years ago, about only packing the food that you need eat during the day. My lunchbox has gotten progressively bigger over the last year. And I tend to eat everything I bring to work, even if it was there only for emergencies. So I am writing off the emergencies, and going back to only packing what I need to eat for meals. If I get stranded in a snow storm in the middle of May at work, I don't know what I will do, but for now I will go back to sustaining myself on the 400-550 calorie lunches. This should cut about 300 calories out of my daily diet, and if it doesn't go in, it doesn't have to come out. Have a great day! Keep a-posting.

Judy , As being an obese kid myself, I wish someone would of incouraged me to make better choices. I came from a family of farm house cookers where all were obese. My grandaughter is 12 and struggles daily. Most days she makes good choices but once in awhile she goes on a beinge. Her brother is very thin and can eat anything. He is into wrestling and wants to put on weight. He weighs himself alot. If he only knew our struggles. BE PROUD THAT YOU INCOURAGE HER ! You are a good Mom! See you lighter. Joanne
