Ya know, not to be a complete downer (I'm really tired of complaining LoL) but I am still feeling pretty much like crap. Apparently I just haven't "got" it yet. I had a good day yesterday (no nausea) but only because I didn't take any pills at all and didn't eat until late and only ate a couple of bites. I was kind of happy thinking maybe things were turning around but then I was up all night sitting on the throne and hugging the trash can. Nothing coming up cause I hadn't had anything but just dry heaves. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if the DS just really does NOT like me! LoL Oh well, que sera sera. What's done is done anyway, no going back(although I've thought seriously about it!) LoL

What kind of pills are you taking?  If your vitamins are making you sick -- you can do without them for a week or so to let your stomach heal.  The absolute most important thing is to get your fluids.  Some of us have a rough start -- but usually we get past it none the worse for wear.  But stay in touch with your surgeon.  What are you taking for nausea?  Are you taking something for acid?

Honestly, shame on me, I haven't even started the vits yet. I am having trouble keeping almost everything down that I just gave up on this idea for a while. I am taking Nexium for acid (I've been on it for years). I have Phenergan for nausea but I couldn't keep it down so I quit taking it. It was a waste of time and money. I know that the first couple of weeks can be rough but geesh I'm a month out tomorrow! You'd think I'd be settled in by now! LoL I have found that I can't drink plain water so I've been sipping on Protein Water and 100% Juice Capri Suns. Connie suggested trying Icees also just to make sure to get fluids in. I might try that if I can get someone to go get me one! Hopefully the old proverb of "This too shall pass" will kick in soon!

There are other nausea medications so you might want to talk to your surgeon if the problem continues.  You might also want to try some flat diet ginger ale.  That was good for me.

Thanks so much Camie.  One day I will get motivated to post before and after pics.  I showed DH the before pics and he said "my God, when did you take those, you look awful."

Sounds like you're starting to feel a bit better, although still tired.   I hope it's going like the DS:   A little bit better every day and a lot better every few days.

I'm supposed to talk with someone about getting my upper lids "done" as they are affecting my eyesight.   I'm afraid, though!

Get lots of rest and feel better soon!

Thanks so much,  Actually this has been the easiest of all of my plastics.

Don't be afraid, Dennie.  Hey, you're a DS graduate.  You're eyesight is a big deal!  -Jenny

I'm glad you're doing so well, Red! I can only imagine the evil eye you must have given the doc when he made that upper lid comment! I know you're getting weary of all these surgeries. Does it help to know that we are all spectacularly jealous?
