How close to goal should I be

I had my DS on 2/24 with Dr. Houston since then I have lost 149 pounds and a total of 194 since January.   The goal I had set was to weigh 230 pounds, which is still in the overweight category but I thought that sounded like a nice number.   I have really been dropping the weight fast and was wondering if you think I should just stay on the path I am on and keep loosing and see if i can get to onderland or should I add more carbs into my diet?   I am so torn here while part of me wants to get to onderland(which I thought was impossible before) I think that if i do I might be too skinny,  but I was reading a post about bounce back weight and if i got to 190 and then bounced back to 220 then i would be fine with that.   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The time-line goals most post-ops shoot for to see if they are on track to lose 100% EWL are:

25% EWL by two months
50% EWL by six months
80% EWL by one year out

Take your surgery weight and subtract your goal weight. That will give you your EWL%

Then it is just a matter of simple division to figure out where you stand.

Here is an example:
my surgery weight was 308 lbs
my goal weight is 145 lbs
which leaves me an EWL of 163 lbs

I have lost 141 lbs which puts me right about 86% EWL.  (141/163=.865 or 86.5 EWL)

I hope that this has been helpful.

What did you base your goal weight on?
I think to get a better idea of the answer to this, it would be good to know your height and body build.  Your muscle mass makes a bigger difference being male as well...

Details?

Just my opinion based on meeting you last week...  As tall as you are, I'm thinking that 190 might be workable, but it may also be too much.  Of course, as has been pointed out, you guys are different. Yeah, seeing that "1" as the first number is a dream of mine.  At 5'8', there is no way I want to stay in the 200's.  Nor do I think it would be healthy for me to weigh >200. What 's the goal Dr. Houston has for you?  He & I have have different goals in mind by about 10-15 pounds if I remember correctly.  I guess if I reach a compromise of half of our difference, maybe both he & I will be satisfied.

Weight and size are numbers that I find interesting.  For me, the only numbers that truly matter are those on my lab reports.  At least that's what I'm saying now.  Who knows what will happen if I actually ever get to a size 12.  For now that is a very scary thought. It's been about 35 years since I really was a size 12; what if I get there and like it?  (Notice I said size 12 and not 2!  You cutie!)

every time i lose weight i think "oh, if i keep going i'm going to be too skinny" but each time i do, and i get to a new weight i think "hey, not bad!" then i think "oh no, not more, i'll be too skinny" *lol*
i say keep going. you had this surgery to get healthy and lose weight! why not see how far it will take you? that's what i'm doing, i stop every now and then, but then i try again and low and behold i lose weight and each time i get happier. I think you should totally keep it up! why not??

we started with similar BMI's so you must be about the same height as me (6'1''). I say lose the weight as fast as you can, you can slow it down when your 10 lbs to goal. You probably will look a bit thin once you get down to 190 or so, only because you lose fat from your face before you do in other parts of your body, with that said, after a few years it fills in again. At 190-195 I think I look good.

Thanks everyone for your repsonses.   I will keep my carbs low and keep loosing until my body tells me it is done.   If that is at 230 then that's ok if it is at 180 then I am fine there too.
