Ketosis Tongue or Thrush?

I'm so sorry about all these problems.   You've been through so much.   Even people just having the normal blahs of a perfectly uncomplicated surgery have felt like they wish they hadn't done it.   It's so normal to be so sick and tired of being sick and tired.   All I can do is hope that you're on the other side of these problems and that every day from here on in will be better than the one before it.

It's not at all uncommon to get the thrush when you've been on so much antibiotic.   Ask your doctor for a swish and swallow - they tend to work really quickly.  ETA - you can swish and spit or even just brush your tongue and roof of your mouth with a mouth swab dipped in it.

I wish there was something I could do to help.   You're in my thoughts and prayers, too, if that's okay.

I had thrush too. Forget the lozenge & mouthwash..

Demand the Pill.......  It will clear it up fast

unlike the mouthwash or lozengers

I am not allowed to take pills orally. I can only crush them up and put them in my J-tube.

You are describing my thrush exactly.  You do not have to swallow the nystatin.  I only gargled it and it was gone in two days.

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time.  Sincerely.  I'll send lot's of positive vibes your way.

 No advice, except to say that I'm sorry you're having to go through all of this.  I hope things get better soon.  (hugs)

I had exactly what you are describing.............. After coming off of some antibotics I went to the Dr's office to show him my mouth and he gave me another prescription for a different type of antibiotic. After leaving his office and whils standing in line to get if filled, I thought to myself, if those antibiotic gave me that then what will this new med do to my body? I went the whole foods market and purchased some of the yougrt type probiotice and took 1/2 bottle 3x's a day for 2 days and all was well within the first 24hours.

OH NO Maddie -- just saw your post and wanted to reach out and remind you that you're my hero!  You are dealing with all these set-backs in such a constructive way and I really admire you!

I hope the Doc was able to give you something to provide relief!  Hang in there!!

(((((((Maddie))))))))  I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time.
I remember talking to Dr. Husted when I was in the hospital and asking him for help and telling him that I just couldn't do it anymore.  I wasn't too coherent but must have gotten my point across because he had a psychiatrist come by to see me and she was wonderful. She came by many times and it helped me.  Not that I am saying you need a psychiatrist, just letting you know that I had similar feelings.  I had a very stubborn leak which required a few surgeries, was NPO for most of my 2 month hospital stay, ended up with a serious blood infection from my PICC line, fevers that gave me convulsive chills...etc.  I know it sucks, big time. You will get through this though hon!  Take the antidepressants, you have a lot going on right now and they might help take the edge off.
Make sure you brush or scrape your tongue. I was so out of it in the hospital most of the time that I didn't brush my teeth for who knows how long. They kept treating me for thrush, I swished with nystatin a few times a day for weeks and weeks but in the end found out that wasn't what I had. Mine was purely from lack of hygiene.  Embarrassing to admit but not sure there was much I could have done about it.
