Tonight was my prom. Pictures included.
You might notice that we vets often are very cir****pect about encouraging very young people to get the DS, because it is such a powerful surgery that requires mature thinking and perseverence -- something that is often missing in young people. In your case, most of us realized that it was the ONLY choice for you because of your starting weight, but we were concerned about your ability to handle the requirements. You have so surpassed our expectations in your level of maturity -- not just about advocating for yourself and taking responsibility for your health, but also your general attitude and grace -- that we feel a very special parental bond with you.
Honey, you do us proud in so many ways. Good on you! And I'm thrilled that you had a wonderful prom. And yes, you looked stunning too -- that was a GREAT choice of a dress, very flattering and it shows off your emerging curvy figure. Bravo!

I can't help but agree with everyone. It's impossible not to see the beautiful woman emerging - your outsides are starting to match your insides! You will always have this memory to look back on, and 129 pounds ago it wouldn't have been nearly as special!
I can't wait for the future posts of fun things you will be doing with your new body! Dancing more nights away, walking, hiking, riding rides at amusement parks ... the world is at your finger tips. Thank you for sharing your WOW moments with all of us.
I recently wrote that I am taking MY life back from the obesity that has held me a prisoner for SO many years - I think that is true for a lot of us, and you are no exception. Imagine where you will be in 6 months, 1 year, 2 years ... You already have a beautiful face and a beautiful, kind, caring spirit. You are already a very special person - and you're just starting out.
You are an inspiration for me - even though I have a daughter older than you! I am following your journey and it makes me inspired and stronger and I know I can do this! Different surgery - a lot of the same hopes and dreams!
You are already a Rock Star - keep up the great work and the great attitude!!!
Hugs you little HOTTIE!
