Anyone awake? Been up all night with gas pains. Now that I WANT to sleep I can't get it, heh.

I'm not writhing on the floor sobbing or anything, just extremely uncomfortable and can't sleep. (If anyone knows a magic cure, let me know! :))

Thought I'd see if anyone else was awake. Though I doubt it. :)

I've been sitting here telling myself to turn off the TV because food keeps looking good to me.. Although the funny thing is, I think being on this board has "prepped" me so to speak. What looks good to me now is different than it used to be.

For instance, I saw an ad for a Dairy Queen Mini Blizzard combo. You know what looked the best? That cheeseburger! I saw some chicken, and I thought, "Go**** needs some bacon and cheese." It's kind of funny. The only "woe is me" was a Subway commercial I saw, when I wondered if I could ever have my favorite sandwich again (double cheese and lettuce on Italian Herbs bread - yes, that's my favorite).

I've also come to realize just how crappy late night TV is. Who knew?! :D

Morning! I've been up since 4AM. Walking helps move the gas along sometimes. I know, not a whole lot of safe places to walk in the middle of the night unless you have a tread mill.

I swear by those gasx meltaway strips.  They are amazing.  Ditto the walking.  In the early stages when I would get pretty narly stomach pains I would go outside and walk at night.  The cool air helped.

sorry. Hope it passes soon.

and YES late night TV is crappy.  Take a TV sabbatical and you'll realize how crappy almost all TV is, but late night is brain-rotting, frustrating non-substance.

Well the gas pains are in my shoulder, I assume leftover from surgery? Would a gasx strip help?

I can't walk too far yet, but I did pace up and down my hallway a bit in hopes that it would get things moving around and work the gas out.

Perfect! Keep doing little walks. That gas has to seep out whatever way it can.

UGH, The shoulder pain.
Sorry, nothing but tylenol or vicodin helped me with that, but it should go away quickly.  Walking will help, then again so will taking a vicodin and trying to go back to sleep.  hope you feel better soon.

Hi Sweetie how are you doing?

Gas pains suck.  Pacing the floor and a warm bath help.  A hot drink can also help although that may be psychological...I use a good hot beverage for all that alis me.

Glad to hear your out and doing ok.

Let me know what the news is. x

Try a heating pad or a hot shower.

My terrible gas did not start to dissipate until I started sipping black tea. Every time I took a sip a little gas bubble would burp up. It was hot and at first and I thought perhaps it was the temperature... but even when the tea got cold it had the same effect.

No other liquids did that for me. Consequently, black tea was constantly by my side the first week after I got home. That gas is awful!

Hopefully it's gone now, but for future reference.....below is what helped me:

Drinking warm peppermint tea.

Ultra strength gas-x (with the tea is even better).

Submerging in a warm bath.  (I have a big jacuzzi tub, so could get all the way under, even 140 pounds ago.)

I'll try to describe this right......Get on your hands and knees, but then lower your chest/shoulders down to the bed/floor and keep you butt up in the air.  I swear this makes the gas travel "up" and out your bum.  You may need to lay there awhile and do it off and on.
