Thanks for the advice.  How much pain were you in? Not sure what to expect.  I should ask my doc about the vit E as I was not told that one.  What about stuff to help the scars heal, did you use anything on them?

I really worked on my leg strength pre-op and it helped a lot!
Make sure you use stool softners or miralax post op, the pain meds may constipate you, I now have a fissure because of it.
Up the protein like everyone else is saying. Good luck!

I had an anchor-cut tummy tuck & arms (& thighs & breasts) done all at once. (In Mexico)  So I don't know exactly what it feels like with the hernia too, but for me it wasn't that bad.  At first, my abdomen felt like I had on the tightest pants possible.  You just get used to it.  The arms were nothing.  The worst part was when everything started itching - when healing!  But, you should eat extra protein to help the healing process, as the body needs lots of protein to heal.

Good luck!  It's amazing to have all the melted skin gone.

Hi Lori,
Good luck with your surgery...it's so exciting!  I had my arms done at the same time as my LBL, full circumference abd. surg with 6 drains..in the abd. none in the arms.  I didn't even think about my arms, my pain was in my tummy!  Do start using your 'legs' upper thighs to help you get up out of the chair. I didn't have any trouble sleeping in bed, I know it's hard for some people.  I did have to get used to sleeping on my back or propping with pillows.  My main comment for you is DO NOT let yourself get constipated!!!  Make sure you take stool softners..even a bit of fiber to help.  I knew better and was taking softners and it still happened...it was awful.  And I like to warn others.  Make sure to drink lots of water, and a bit of fruit juice helped me too--Good luck to you...I'm so happy I had my plastics done...you'll love being able to wear short sleeved/no arm shirts!!  :)  Take care!!
