Any DSer's regret their decision?

I have yet to find someone here at OH that regrets their decision to go with the DS for their WLS. I was wondering if there is anyone out there that regrets their decision to go with the DS over a different proceedure and why. Thanks for sharing and helping to shepherd me along.

No regrets at all. I love living and eating like a normal thin person. The DS is the easiest surgery to live with and maintain weight loss. There's no comparison.

For the first time in my life, I'm relatively normal.  It was the right choice for me.  I knew several people who had RNY or were banded and they all gained the weight back.

Nope, no regrets here. I know I'm only 6 months out but my aunt regretted her rny before the first month was over, she tells everybody who talks to her about wls to talk to me about the ds because she feels I had a much better surgery and that my surgeons office has a better program overall.

there is one person on oh that turned her ds into rny but she will tell you she didn't follow any instructions for after care. I believe there is at least one more that lengthened their common channel to absorb more calories and vites. That's the only revisions I can think of that I know.

I am probably the one mentioned here that lengthened my CC to absorb more calories and vites. I believe in this surgery and do not regret it at all. I would have loved to not have had to revise and just started out with the same CC as I have now, but hey...everything worked out!

My situation couldn't be predicted. In any other normal person, a 100cc is just fine if not conservative, it was just too short for me is all.

Again, no regrets.

I'm aware of a couple other people who've had to do this, but don't think they're on here any more. It happens once in a while. People are individuals :-). You're doing okay now though, right?

Hello,
Just wondering if you would mind emailing me and telling me your story?  I don't recall seeing you on here but then I am not on much anymore.  Would really like to know what caused you to have to lengthing your common channel.  My email is [email protected]

Thanks,
Lori
