Questions and fears?

So I originally was approved to have the revision from band to DS with Dr. Barker. I switched surgeons. Had my case closed with Dr. Barker and everything was submitted for approval through Dr. Stewart. They want MORE information that they did before including an EGD. I am having an EGD Friday but I am starting to get nervous that I made the wrong decision. What if they decline me because my stomach is NOT eroded? How can they approve you for one surgeon and decline you for the next for the same thing? Also, if they decline me for Dr. Stewart, is it possible to go back to Dr. Barker and use the original approval even though that case was closed? This stuff is almost ridiculous. They simply should have a form for changing surgeons for the same surgery rather than a whole new submission and approval. I am very upset and afraid today for some reason and I was more assured the first time. I have a sinking feeling in my stomach. Praying hard today and asking for any prayers, good lucks or good Kama thrown my way that you can give. =/

It was not needed the first time I was approved. I am not sure why they are requesting it this time. It has only been a month since the last approval. Same surgery...just a different Surgeon.

Contact jessica at dr strwarts office. to see if this test is required for surgery approval from insr or just for dr strwart

They are requesting it for insurance now for some reason.

I needed that test done to be approved for my revision Lizzi. It may be because we are revisions. Besides, vomiting with the band....and lack of weight loss should be good enough to be approved. Don't jump to conclusions yet. Let them do what they need to do. Your doc is well known and I bet they know what they are doing. By the time you know it you will be telling us your surgery date. Positive vibes only.....being sent to you from KS ;)

Dr. Stewart would have probably done a EGD any ways.  I had one and was a self pay..I know it's a little different with the requirements of insurance.  But just hang in there.
