I recently moved into a house with a septic system. In our "orientation," we were told to not put oils down the drain. During our first inspection a couple of months later, the septic guy told me we were putting a lot of oil down the drain. This isn't the case: we throw all oils/fats away. My concern is that, due to the surgery, my waste is often oily and floats in the water. I know that oils float on top of the water in the tank. What can be done? Am I going to have to flush the system much more frequently? Do I have any options? My search on the internet has not been successful.
Me too Patty. I had my stomach stapled in'96. Lost about 80 then it came back and brought friends. I had the ds in '06, loving it. Although I've gained 20 since lock down I'm determined to get it off before spring.

Absolutely everything, but did not encounter up to this moment something critical. Better that nothing happened, because even more money people are ready to pay for health. In my situation the best decision was not to purchase a new gaming setup but health insurance with the best coverage plan . Time will pass and after seeing lately news on TV, think that my decision is the best this year. Don't know how time will pass and things that will happen, generally speaking about my health status. Want to be and protected all the time, to be sure that I'm prepared for every possible situation. Check this guide - think for many will be interesting also.
Hey there Im Sunshine ?! Im new. I am scheduled for DS surgery on January 22nd 2021. Im nervous but excited. I would love to be apart of a weekly zoom support. Please tag me in.
Good afternoon fellow DSers. I was just wondering if anyone would have a copy of the required bloodwork, as recommended by Dr. Lutrzykowski that they could send me. I have a new family doctor and I can find my list anywhere. I should really know it by heart after all this time...lol
Thank you,
Holly
maybe you could get it from his office.
I need and would like to participate in a zoom meeting.

Yes! Congratulations on your surgery! I just had mine about two weeks ago.
I will post here once I format the meeting and have a start date, we are looking to have the first meeting sometime in January, Saturdays at 11am PST. If you like, you can PM your email, so I can keep you posted that way . Otherwise, I'll be sure to post here at least a week ahead of time both as a new post and here in this thread as well.
All the best!
Thank you for your interesting story and tips.
Not sure I'm following your question so here goes.
I had the DS almost 18 years ago. At surgery I weighed 320 pounds (5'3"). I lost all of my excess weight in just over a year. I weighed and measured all my food and followed the program 150%. I started working out about 3-4 months after surgery (once my surgeon gave me the OK). I lost 5 pounds a week for 5 months (100 pounds). Then I quit smoking so it took me another 5 months to lose the next 50 pounds. Then the last 20-25 pounds took probably another 5-6 months. I had plastic surgery about 2 years after losing all my weight and have kept it off ever since.
This morning when I got on the scale I weighed 149 pounds. I maintain my weight by eating more than 100 grams of protein per day, drink at least a gallon of water a day, and take ALL of my vitamins every day. I take a probiotic and fiber every morning. I balance carbs - I eat a ton to maintain my weight. if I notice the scale creeping up, I cut back on the carbs.
I have battled iron deficiency anemia since the beginning - my last infusion was almost 4 years ago and the numbers are still good. I also have osteoporosis (but I'm also 63 years old) so it's probably a combination of not absorbing calcium and genetics.
Otherwise life is good.
My advice is to follow the guidelines. Eat your protein, avoid carbs (if you're trying to lose weight), drink your water, and exercise.
