Hi I stay away from too much sugar or bread. That being said I find probiotics 10 million I think helps me when things get out of hand.

Hello everyone,

My name is Sandra and I had ds in 2007 with Dr. L in Michigan. I was an avid OHer years ago but slowly lost contact with my fellow ds sisters and brothers. I live in Ontario, Canada and was wondering how everyone else is doing this far out?

Thanks,

Sandra originally from Belleville Ontario.

My culprit is sugar alcohols. I found out that they were used in the bariatric chewable vitamins I was taking. Check everything you eat for ingredients that end in itol like

  • Erythritol
  • Maltitol
  • Mannitol
  • Sorbitol
  • Xylitol

Topic: Gastric Bypass w/Duodenal Switch question

I had Gastric Bypass w/Duodenal switch around 20 years ago. I suffer with stomach bloating and god awful gas. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of the pain and smell? I've tried Gas X, Pepto, and Phazyme Ultra Strength. The other thing I tried was Atrantil which does help but not enough. And I don't drink carbonated drinks or chew gum. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi ,

I am scheduled to hopefully have my DS surgery on 11/18/19 (just waiting on the insurance to give their approval). I have done a lot of research on the surgery and have read a ton of post's on this forum. Between all that and talking with my Nutritionist and Doctor, I understand how important taking your vitamins, getting your water in, and having a high Protein Diet is for the success and for our well being.

To plan ahead, I am trying to find a simple phone application to track my macronutrients (whi*****lude water, carbohydrates, fat and protein). A lot of the apps I have found mainly tract Calories and Carbs, but to get the Macronutrients like protein, they want to charge you either a monthly or yearly membership fee. Before investing money on one of the many apps out there, that I may or may not like, what do you guys and gals do to track you nutrients?? Thank you in advance :)

I think there is a Canada dedicated forum that you might get some responses.

Good luck!

FitDay is what I used 14 years ago, but today it's all in my head.
