Depending on how concerned you are you might want to talk to the Doc about something like Creon. It's an enzyme (I think) that increases absorption. I've seen a lot of people ( relatively ) that were concerned about too much weight loss try that.
I feel for you, the first year I never really knew from week to week if something would hit me differently than the week before. Dairy was an especial problem for me then, soon figured it out and switched to Lactaid and frozen yogurt but it made my life miserable till I saw online about people coming out lactose intolerant and connected the dots. Powdered milk was a big portion of my Docs post-op re-introduction to food.
Have you tried something like sodium bicarbonate to mask some of the symptoms?

Okay, so you started with a band over bypass and he increased your malabsorption. This is known as a distal bypass. They usually bypass around 100cm total of intestine. It's not as much as a DS, but a lot more than the standard RNY. I have a friend who did this who started out very big. She lost another 60 lbs or so, but is still morbidly obese. Results are a mixed bag.
Your specialist's explanation of scar tissue doesn't make sense because the scar tissue should be related to your pouch, not the stomach that he would have rejuvenated to function again. A bypass to DS is a very complicated procedure, and it's likely that your specialist didn't feel confident doing it. Many experienced DS surgeons step away from doing bypass revisions to DS, too. It would have been nice for him to be up front with you from the start, though.
I wish you'd reached out before your second revision. We could have turned you to a surgeon who could give you a proper DS revision. For now, you need to increase your vitamin regime to more of a DS regimen, but all of the rules and restrictions of the RNY still remain (i.e. you can still dump, no NSAIDS).

I have passed my goal, I am very under weight now I've lost about 41%, this was just not even a number we had thought about or discussed. I just wanted to know if others have had this happen. .I appreciate the advise and I do add items each day but I just find the tummy aches, gas, and diarrhea very overwhelming. I usually go back to a blander diet when this happens. I was just hoping for more wins by now. I usually eat protein first then veggies, then a carb. I do not eat carbs daily. I just find they do not agree with me then I am up all night. I just keep trying buy every check up I am loosing more and more. I am afraid it isn't going to stop. But I will take the advice and try as it cant hurt. I appreciate your time in answering me.
Thank you I will try these suggestions. I the more I can try and add in to get small wins will help me tremendously.
thanks im not looking forward to optifast but i thought it might be a quick fix to get the weight off i weigh 85kgs now which i guess is not too bad usually a size 16 i must admit i did like the thinner look
1.25 % just under 15 percent because i lost 75kgs so you think i should be able to maintain at 85kgs ?as i said i had it in 2002
Good one. :) My mind doesn't always agree. Sometimes when telling a new Doc or nurse my weight I will start with a 4xx and catch it because it is, up til now, a 2xx number.....
I wish that were the case for me. While I don't have to diet I can certainly gain from overeating carbs.
I'm guessing if you started to track your carbs and then figured out how many would be a 25% reduction you might see some change, hard to tell.
Typical meal day:
Protein shake 2 scoops Optimum Nutrition for a lazy mans breakfast (eggs if I'm ambitions, sausage egg McMuffin if I'm on the run -rarely though)
Lunch - lunch meat, egg salad, yesterdays hunk of meat, Rotissiere chicken, whatever is handy. Breaded chicken strips or some microwave meal heavy on the protein.
Snacks - Cheese, any time. Jack LInks Beef or turkey sticks, Crackers some times. Beef Jerky at night to help avoid crackers or chips.
Dinner - Boston Market, Roasted anything with potatoes, salad with meat added, things like that
While I can do a "refresh" to lower my carbs by going back to some of the meals from my first year or doing a couple of days on protein shakes I had a hard time mentally sticking to it.
I thought a group setting would help and there really aren't, that i found, any DS groups in the Cleveland, Ohio area I decided to go back to Weigh****chers ( or WW as they now say ) to see if that could help.
I like the group setting and the weekly weigh in as a better check than I do on my own. I don't talk about my DS but the mental / emotional issues are the same. I'm not a big fan of the "meditation and getting in touch with yourself" part but sometimes its' helpful. I've adapted the latest iteration of WW points to fit my DS. I never hit the points their latest "science" says should be my goal but the basic diet is very close to a protein first approach. Some proteins are zero points under their plan and I do all my proteins as zero points. The big difference is that I do not track fats and while they are OK with fats there are still some penalties built in that I easily ignore. That is the real reason I never hit their point goals (OK and I eat more that they would say is right). :)

Your other Onederland victory is no longer needing a scale that can handle 750lbs capacity.
Actually, you will love having a fully functioning stomach again. Having already one failed WLS, do you really want to take a chance on something new without as much data? The DS has been around since 1988, and it wasn't until 2005 that it started getting any respect. It seems every Dr. Tom, Dick and Harry can do SADI all of a sudden that know nothing of DS...it's kinda scary.
