Topic: Interest in support group for Naples, FL?
Hello all,
I live in Naples FL. and am almost 10 years post-op. I lost 157lbs with my wls and founded a support group in Connecticut with 4 chapters and over 150 members, for almost 5 years. My family and I moved to Florida, in 2006 and I have been out of the loop since then.
I have recently decided, that I am being called back to this journey in my life and am wondering how great the need for a support group is, here in Naples. If you are pre-op or post-op, and are interested in a support group please contact me. I'll be happy to get a group started and see where this journey can take us!

I wanted to let you know there is a new group I just created for Central Florida WLS patients of Dr. Jawad's called "Loser's on the Winning End!"
I believe you can search for it by using "Central Florida WLS" and look for "Loser's on the Winning End!"
It is a brand new group but I am looking for members in the Central Florida area who have been patients or are potential patients of Dr. Jawad so we can support each other, compare stories and find new friendships.

Seems to me there used to be a place on this site where local support group information was listed. Is it still here and I just can't find it?
And at one time, couldn't we search to find people in a particular city of a particular state? Like a list of people on this site who lived in Jacksonville, FL?
Someone asked me about local support groups and I was looking for somebody I'd talked to in the past so anybody who can help me, I'd appreciate it.

Hi all...it's lonely down here in South Florida as it seems a lot of you are in the Central and Northern part of the state. That's fine though...we can still be friends! And if there are any fellow Hialeah residents...give me a shout!

Has anyone had any experince with either Dr. Whittwell and/or Hialeah Hospital? If all goes well, I'll be getting my VSG done by him in July.

I do know about the other cruise as well. What we were doing is a bit different and with the numbers of us WLSers that there are, it seemed there are plenty of potential attendees to have more than one option. We are also planning to do others in different regions of the country to give other folks a more affordable opportunity to go to one.

Thank you for replying. Yes he is new to this area he was head of bariatric surgery at Allergheny hospital in Pennsylvania. Dr Chappano and Herrera did bring him in to head up their bariatric division since they do all kinds of surgery. As you stated i have heard very good things about them so hopefully I have nothing to worry about.
I did talk to Dr Cywes about revising to sleeve. He wants to put another band on. Even though i am totally open and still have problems. My band is not in a circle around my stomach, it seems to like to be in a triangle. With that happenini i have so much acid reflux and i cant keep food down. Also I have developed a dilated esophogus. I love Dr Cywes but he wouldnt look at any other options.
I wish you luck in getting your revision. I have had so many problems I cant wait to get it done. I jjust didnt want to be his first here in Jacksonville...lol
