I am so sorry you are having such problems. I had my surgery on 8/18 and I guess you can say it was textbook. I haven't had any problems, but I know how horrible it is when you are in pain all the time.
You mentioned that wound care cleans your wounds 3 times a week. Who arranged this for you? The surgeon or your PCP? Why not ask the wound care specialist to evaluate your wounds and then contact the doctor on your behalf. They must be able to see how much pain you are in. With them contacting the doctor they would have to believe how much pain you have, then they should perscribe something stronger.
I know your doctor is in Ocala, if you live in the area, there is a bariatric support group at West Marion Hospital on this Thursdday night @ 6:00 pm. The group is conducted by Dr. Jawad's office but it is open to all bariatric patients.

The iron pills make me sick, I take the chewable from Vitalady and love them.

Is this your pcp or your surgeon giving you motrin??! That's crazy, do not take nsaids for a prolong time like weeks. You need to insist on the pain meds. Insist!

Hello everyone!
I am new to the site and am scheduled to have the gastric sleeve on the 22nd of this month. I am looking forward to the holidays where I won't want to overeat! My mother and I are both having our surgeries on the same day. She is having the bypass. We are both very excited.
I will keep you all posted on our progress.
I am still figuring out how to maneuver around the site and how to set up my profile.
Looking forward to meeting you all, although I'm in the Orlando area and will be going to Dr. Jawad's Orlando meetings.

I've been on prednisone and chemo for over 7.5 years. Gained over 160 pounds due to pred. Highest wt. 410. Surgery wt. 365. Current wt. 299

I have medicare. Where are you located in FL? If you're near Naples, Ft Myers or Hollywood I know of a good surgeon that does the band, sleeve and rny. He takes Medicare and the hospital he performs surgery at is a hospital of excellence. You will need a surgeon that deals with places of excellence with mediare. you don't need preapproval from medicar, but a you do need a letter from your primary doc stating why you need this surgery, what you've gone through being obese etc.
