Topic: All Florida OH members
Hi: OH members
I am looking for members that have had WLS at The Cleveland Clinic in Weston Fl, with Dr. Rosenthal. I did communicate with one member that had surgery with Dr. Rosenthal, but would like to meet others too. Monday Nov 28 I have an appointment with my endocrinologist to discuss my WLS plans.
Would really love to hear from anyone of  Dr. Rosenthal patients.
I have been a patient at The Cleveland Clinic for over 20 years. They have excellent doctors and wonderful service.
I'm waiting, Thanks, keep losing, get healthy.

I would be interested in a support group. I work in Tampa and live in Valrico but could drive some but probably not too far out west like Citrus Park that makes it about an hour from work and my home. I didn't know if you had any general locations in mind.

Topic: In the Jacksonville area?
I was just thinking......

After the first of the year, I wonder if there's anybody out there who'd like to have support group meetings and we'll discuss different medications and diets.  I think that even with wls, we need to have some kind of "plan" in mind to follow so we can stay on track.  I always thought that having wls meant that I can eat anything I want....just not much of it.  I found out real quick that was NOT the situation.  I've had lots of people I know go back on Weigh****chers after having wls and they can use that as a good guideline.

There are more diets out there than I can count and more diet "aids" than I can count, as well.  So I was thinking that if you were interested, you could let me know which one you'd like to talk about and you could chair the meeting on a particular Saturday.

I was thinking of the 1st Saturday of the month at 10 AM and the side of town will depend on who's "in".  So, if you'd like to meet, send me an email that goes something like this:

LaWanda, I live on the Westside near Normandy Blvd & Lane Ave.  I've had RNY, 5 years ago, but had previous tried the Sugar Buster's diet and would be happy to fill the group in on what I know.  I've also taken Meridian sometime back but would be able to give some input on my reaction to that medication, as well.  The 3rd Saturday is better for me and 1 is a better time than 10.

That way, I can put together a chart and see how many are interested, what they want to talk about, what day is best for them and at what time.

I'll keep you posted...IF there's enough interest.  Just let me know.

Topic: RE: Artificial sweetner
Thank you for the advice. My husband uses Stevia I did try it once and it seemed very sweet but I only tried a sip of his. It is worth it to be able to add sweetner without problems either way headache or dumping. Thank you again.

Tina - will do - not getting anything back yet on either support groups that have started or ones that are interested in our area.. but hey - we know we have each other at least lol - might not be able to understand what is happening to us as we wont have a "done that been there" supporter.. but sometimes just having someone to pick you up when you fall or cheer you on is enough.. ;-)

Topic: WOW!! Is this normal
I am about 2 wks post op and I am having no issues eating anything, no nausea, no dumping nothing. I have just began eating cottage cheese, soft fruits, eggs and etc. I am also able to eat about half a cup to a cup of things at one sitting. Is this normal. I always thought it was going to be so much more restrictives. That my body would not tolerate things right away. Is this normal.
