Tired of Waiting!
Hi Jen I agree with Kourtney thats where I am having my surgery in Grinnell because you don't have to do all the other stuff I was going to University hospital and I said forget it many have cancelled from there because of there expectations before surgery. I wish you luck once my insurance approved me they set me up for surgery like 1 month after that it would of been sooner but my surgeon was on vacation for 2 weeks. I had to cancel my surgery because of my husbands job changing to new insurance that was very frustrating so now I am waiting for a whole new approval. Good luck.

I have to add my 2 cents to this. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Glas**** and his program at Sartori. I never looked into any other programs so won't give my opinions there. All of the pre-op testing that is done at Sartori is so worth it. I was impressed to think they wanted to know every part of me was ready to have this surgery. I know that me and several others had things that were "found" that we never knew about because of the testing and had other types of surgery done before our tummies. They found a mass on my kidney, which I had no idea I had, and removed part of my kidney along with the tumor. Fortunately, it was not cancerous, but I was told that 90% of those tumors are. If it had not been removed eventually it could have become cancerous or caused other problems for me as it would continue to grow.
Dr. Glas**** wants to make sure you are in tip-top shape before performing surgery. Please be patient. It is sooooooo worth it in the end. BTW the time between the seminar I attended and surgery was 9 mos. But I also had kidney surgery in that time frame. I'm now 9.5 mo out and down 109 lbs. I would do this all over again in a heartbeat -- and also all the ups & downs that went along with it.
