OT: Did you read DM Register?

Hi all, The article on my surgery hit the Des Moines Register. Did you read it? What did you think? Jennifer was so positive, she did her homework before the interview & Andrea was fun when she was here taking pics. I hope this was a positive story for those wanting surgery or have been thinking about it. Carolyn

Carolyn I did read it today,I dont ever buy the DM Register but ,I did today because of you,I read it & I LOVED IT!!! I even cried reading some parts of (((BIG HUGZ))) I'm sorry you had to go threw some of that as a child, If yo ever need anything please call on me Janelle

Carolyn, I reacted like Janelle did. I almost cried when I read about what you put on the back of your 3rd grade photo. You must have been very unhappy and I wish you didn't have to live through that. I think the author did a very good job of covering the subject & if people read it with an open mind they willl understand why we had the need to have the surgery. I found the other articles very good too. Isn't it shocking to realize that most people in Iowa are overweight or worse? I guess I didn't formerly notice things like that but now when I go shopping I notice how many people are obese & my heart bleeds for them. Like Janelle also, I never buy the Register but I made a special trip to town to pick up the paper just to read the article. I'm so glad you participated in this series. Dixie

I was just getting ready to email you! I had forgotten about it and started looking at the paper this morning and reading the article. It took me a minute to realize it was YOU! My hubby thought I'd lost my mind as I was babbling that I sort of know you! Great article. You have overcome a tremendous amount and have come up smiling. You have a lot of heart.

Carolyn: Congratulations on becomming a celebrity!! I thought the DM REG did an awesome job on the story!! Your story was inspiring!! I though they covered it in a very fair and positive manner. You were an excellent representitive for WLS community!! The whole series of stories looks very informative!! Wish Katie my best too!! I could really see her loss in her most recent photo!!
