Topic: I have had my Lap Band installed!!

Hi Friends,

Well, I did it! I had my Lap Band installed this past Monday and I am doing just fine. They did the surgery at 7am and I was home and all cozy in a recliner by 12:30pm that day. I took the pain pills faithfully the first 2 days then only had one all day yesterday and today none. The post surgery diet is no big deal...I am really not hungry. I go back on Monday to have my staples removed. Thanks for all of the well wishes.

I am actually not new to the sight. I went through this process in 2007 and actually had a surgery date set up in november of 2007. But the nerves got the best of me and I began to second guess myself and chickened out. I decided on last time that I can do this on my own and I don't really need to go through this drastic measure. but a year later and I am still at the same weight plus an additional 5 lbs. So I deceided to go through this again. the Mercy center for weight reduction says I pretty much have to start over so this time I hope I am able to stick with it. because I really need it. Wish me luck.

Topic: Weight Loss Surgical Center in West Des Moines

It's been open for a couple months now, but I haven't seen it mentioned here that we've opened a Weight Loss Surgical Center clinic in West Des Moines, and we've already started seeing patients considering adjustable gastric band surgery.

We put the location in West Des Moines, because we had been drawing interest from people in Iowa to our bariatric surgery facility in Overland Park, Kan., for quite some time and we wanted to be able to make it easier for people to visit us for initial consultations and follow-up care, which is imperitive to lose weight with the band.
