We're home!

We had a fantastic time! I just loved spending time with my buddies! Hope was talking about doing this again around the end of April. That might would be abit too snowbird for us..so we'll see. We like to camp when we can enjoy the pool (which we did very much this time!). I think April would be more furnace time than air conditioner. Others may enjoy it at that time though. Over coffee this morning, we were also talking about how much fun it would be to all go to Indiana Beach next year. Bill & I had a really relaxed, wonderful time there. The IB campgrounds were great too. So...two next year? VERY possible! They were having their Summer Festival in Middlebury so we also got to see a parade and cheer Hope's KOA float on! Floyd took part in the local festivities running contests! Woo-hoo!! Way to go Floyd! Ask him what his runner number was on Saturday! We also went to Shipshiwana and enjoyed their cheese samples! Mmmmm!! Also brought a few pounds of it home! lol. Oh! And found the greatest Veggie Chips! If I can figure out how to dehydrate them, I plan on doing up a bunch of it! With it getting close to harvest time, perfect timing! Friday & Saturday night, we enjoyed visiting around the campfire. I brought my sf marshmallows and boy were they yummy toasted! Brenda & Floyd brought the rest of the fixin's for smore's!  It had gotten cool enough that sf hot chocolate and hot tea were tasty as well! The pitch-in Saturday was yummy! Brenda..post your bake bean recipe..k? BTW..you have got the best behaved dogs!!! Cheryl..you look fantastic girl! I am so glad you & John came..and I'm glad we were able to pleasantly surprise him! Hahaha! RNY does not equal bland, tasteless food for the rest of your life! I'll be getting pics to Hope tonight or tomorrow cause let me tell you, that girl needs a serious pic update! She looks so great! She & Peter were both sweeties. I wonder if our accent was as noticeable to them as theirs was to us? A special thanks to Dana & Bill! Dana was our fire-meister. He can build a campfire lickety-split! Bill was our grill-meister. I really appreciated these gentlemen!! (and yes, Bill is my hubby, so I'll give him a special thanks tonight...) Ellen...as always sweetie, I hate it when our time together comes to a close. You take care of yourself and don't over-do it. Let me know if/when you head to Florida. love you sis! So folks.....this is one activity that you don't want to miss next year! Hope's KOA and the Indiana Beach campgrounds both have RV sites, tent sites, and cabins. What a wonderful weekend.  We had so much fun meeting Hope and Peter and Cheryl and John.  It was so relaxing spending time with our friends and taking in the local amusements.  We would definately not hesitate to do this again if possible. Ellen...I hope we didn't wear you out too much.  Tell Dana thanks for the great camp fires.  They were so relaxing and warm and pretty with the little surprises.   Sherri...Thanks for taking such good care of all of us.  We really showed our "newbie" status with this trip.  Tell Bill thanks for the great BBQ chicken and we look forward to our next outing.

Hope...Thanks for inviting everyone up to your neck of the woods.  We had a blast and the campground was very nice.  Time and weather permitting we would love to do it again.  Let us know if your float won any prizes.  It was the best in our book. Back to reality tomorrow.  Hope to see everyone again soon.

Hi our Camping Buddies & everyone,   OH MY GOSH, YA'LL MISSED THE BEST TIME!!!! SHERRI IS NOW THE OFFICIAL PARTY PLANNER/HOSTESS  IN OUR BOOK- WHAT A WONDERFUL TIME WE HAD. I TELL YOU, THAT LADY KNOWS HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOU-I WAS SPOILED ROTTEN ALL WEEKEND!!! I  APPRECIATED IT ALL-THANKS FOR TAKING SUCH GOOD CARE OF ME, SHERRI & BRENDA.  We made it home by 5 pm. -few potty breaks for me & Dana decided to take the country rds. to Frankfort where we shopped for food/supplies for our trip. ~~~~Well, our prayers were ANSWERED 'cause we DON"T have to go to Fla. after all!!!!  Penny called & said  they are working things out!! Since the house sold, it is a huge weight off their shoulders. Sherri & Bill- What can I say- Dana & I feel so blessed to have you as our friends!!!  Dana said- "We'll definately do this again, if they want to"!!! I/we really enjoyed every minute!!!! "Plus ~ for once I could actually enjoy following someone- she's like me- no grass under her feet-ha~ha"!!!! He really enjoyed getting to know you both more~ thanks for a great ~food, time,talks, staying up with us "night owls"-everything!! We love you like "family" !! Hope & Peter,  Thank you so much for the great hospitality & I feel like we have made some great camping friends/hosts in you! We couldn't have had a better time!! No wonder you are always booked!!!! We definately will be coming up there again!!!!! I don't know about April- we'll see how the weather is (this yr. he took out the anti freeze too soon & one of our pipes broke from the cold snap) but we are up for another campout next yr.Hopefully you'll have more time to visit- it was great getting to know you!!! Cheryl & John, It was so great that you came out for our pitch-in & that salad- too die for!!!! YUMMY!!!! John, it was great to meet you- keep giving Cheryl those pats on the back- cause she deserves them!! Cheryl, you are doing fantastic gal!!!! I won't recognize you at the next get- together! Hope you just keep getting better & better- a few "bumps" along the road are normal- you just keep "cruising"~!!! BRENDA & FLOYD-  Thanks for all of the little & big things you did to make this weekend a blast!!! FLOYD-You worked hard for that metal- enjoy it!!! Not everyone gets that number & ends up in the WINNERS CIRCLE !!!!! I really admire you guy! Brenda- I want "smore" fun times with you!!!! You need to post your dessert for me- it was delish!!!!! Plus, getting to spend some real quality time with you both was great~ & the Yoders Shoppe- gotta love it- Did anyone say- "road trip??"!!!!!! Dana said- "I'm so glad they came- we'll make campers out of them yet!" Well, got to go get my meds. at the drugstore- Dr. Inman called in a perscript. I am tired, and sore, but just couldn't pass up being with you, plus you made me feel better!!! I need  to do laundry, & fix the man his supper- so thanks again buddies- it was the best time; I am journaling it in my little camping book as- one of the best!!!!!! (((hugs))) Ellen

 Thanks to all who came!  It was great to meet you all and to sit and chat with you last night around the fire, made my weekend! Ellen - loved the 'cheesecake soup' will have some more tomorrow for breakfast! Shirley - it was really great of you to do all the setting up  and cooking! It was the best meeing you finally! Brenda -I love your dogs! The little one is so cute! Your strawberry fluff was yummy! Floyd- way to go running that race saturday! Cheryl-it was really nice that you came up for the dinner, even though I couldn't eat it you salad looked yummy! here's to next time!
