Good news re Psych Eval

Well, I heard from the Psychologist on Friday and the "team" decided that all I need to do is continue going to support group meetings and find a therapist and see him/her once before the surgery so that I have a therapist "in the wings" for after the surgery if I need one.  THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!  I was so afraid that the requirements would be HUGE, but these are completely doable!  Now I just have to wait for insurance approval!  Everyone keep their fingers crossed for me!!

Congrats, this means you are almost there huh?  at least you get to pick a therapist instead of going to thiers.  That means alot just going to some one maybe you are familiar with or have heard of.  Good Luck on your Insurance approval.  Carla

Yep--almost there--just the insurance approval and then I get a surgery date!!  I hope the insurance approval goes quickly--I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have the surgery before the end of the year!  I turn 30 in January and would really like to have the surgery before I turn 30.

Hang in there Gal!  I am waiting on insurance approval also....although I want my surgery before my 50th bday in October...lol  Congrats though on the requirements...you are right...they are doable...everything is doable to have this surgery!

WAY TO GO- YOU HAVE JUST JUMPED A HUGE HURDLE!!!!! I went to "their" PHY. & he said-" no way, got to come in for  therepy with me for 12 mo. to get approved- GRRR!! I already had a Phy. I was working with for 2 yrs.prior, (loss of my parents 17 days apart, family issues with all of it, plus wanting to get support before surgery)so I went & told him & Dr. Inman. I did end up going to 10 support groups- 2 a month,before having the surgery- at the "thinking about it & waiting time" ~ it really helped me prepare for whatever came my way. At the end of 5 mo. I aksed my Phy. to write a reccomendation to Dr. Inman, Ins. & St. V's Bariatrics- he did & I was approved in 1 week!!!! For me, it was the best thing that could happen. Wow Ellen!  I bet you were so discouraged to have been told that!  Just between you, me and the rest of the board (lol!) I was not impressed with "their" psychologist so that made me even more uneasy about him taking it before the "team"--but fortunately it all turned out well.  Thanks for the encouragement!!
