Pre Op Jitters & Questions
My surgery is less than a week away and I am now starting to get nervous! Although I know this surgery is the best option for me to lose weight, I can’t help to be nervous about everything. I believe part of this is due to the fact that my FIL passed away last week and a close friend of ours mother passed away the week before. Since this happened, all I can think about is “they normally go in 3’s” and that my surgery is right around the corner……..what if the 3rd one is me? I talked to me DH about moving my surgery out a couple of weeks (I haven’t told him my fear), but he won’t hear of it. He feels that I have worked to hard to get to this point & wanted this for so long that he wants me to do it so I can start living a healthier lifestyle. I agree with what he’s saying, but I can’t seem to get past this fear.
Since I am going to go through with the surgery, I do have some questions. What should I take to the hospital? How long was everyone out of work? I work in an office; I talked to my doctor about going back to work the week after my surgery, but doing only ½ days. Although he agreed it could be done, he stated that most people are out of work for 2weeks or longer. Everyone I know that has had the surgery strongly recommends I give myself at least 2weeks. Has anyone else gone back to work after a week? Thanks for listening to me ramble and any advice you may have!

Friend's are a gift you give yourself!
2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou has done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
"- so you aren't alone! I am sorry to hear of the losses in your life lately, but try to think positively- they are no longer suffering.
I took my slippers, a pr. of pajamas ,robe, my sweats to wear home and not much else- other than a few of my toiletries. I did take some magazines & books I THOUGHT I'd get to read- NOT!!
With the walking, sipping, napping, etc. you just find the time flys by!
Keep posting and know we are all here for you.

!!!YOU WOULDNT BE NORMAL IF YOU WANSNT NERVOUS. AND AS FAR AS WHAT TO TAKE, I TOOK LIP BALM, SOMETHING COMFY TO WEAR HOME AND A BOOK ( THAT I DIDNT EVEN PICK UP) I SPENT ALL MY TIME WALKING SIPPING AND SLEEPING. THE MORE YOU WALK THE BETTER YOU FEEL, SURE IT HURTS A LITTLE AT FIRST BUT THATS THE GAS AND WALKING HELPS WITH THAT SO MUCH. GOOD LOCK AND KEEP US POSTED VICKI
Yep nervous is the feeling the week before and the night before....but..It is sooooooo much better when u walk in the hospital and EVERYONE smiles and greets you...you can't help but SMILE yourself! SO,,,,my advice is to walk in...smile...and have the chaplain pray for God to be with you on your journey to a healthier life!
As far as what to take to the hospital...I took toiletries...and some under panties and some pads...just in case...which IT DID happen...I wore home what I wore to the hospital...and they give you slippers to walk in...books are useless...cause all you do is walk..and sleep.
Hang in there...we are all here for you!
